i posted this in another thread but realized afterwards it was really old and probably no one will read it so i'm posting here.

i purchased a rioni signature luxury tote in october. initially i was very happy with it. it seemed well made, had nice features, was comfortable to carry, pretty light and looked nice. however, after about 4 months of use the straps are cracking on the edges. the bag was advertised as having leather trimmings, and i assumed that included the handles. leather doesn't crack like this. plastic and pu does. so i'm very disappointed in having spent $150 and have cracked handles. i wouldn't buy another rioni. anyone have this problem?

My luxury tote has leather handles. The vachetta on all my Rioni bags patina. Could you photograph the cracking and upload to this thread?

Finally, there are some videos with Rioni purses on youtube.

That so awesome!! I actually just bought a new Rioni last week. Gotta post some pics! Ill watch the video later on today. My lux tote is now 2 years old and holding up amazing!

I still look at Rioni on ebay, but prices have gone up. I suppose I could have contributed to that problem... I still want a wristlet. The small one I have works as a crossbody, but the strap isn't detachable, so can't be used as a wristlet. But living in Europe, shipping and customs/tax is problematic.

Otherwise, I'm very happy with the ones I have. The handles on the Luxury Tote have now softened. I don't use the Tall Tote as much anymore since I got the Longchamp Le Pliage - it's too heavy. But the Le Pliage won't stand on it's own unless you really stuff it, so both Rioni totes and the Boston bag are better for social occasions and meetings.

Oh, and if you're worried about rain and the vachetta, find a nylon tote that's waterproof that's big enough for your bag and leave that in the bag. There are lots of those on ebay.

Yes, looks like the med size. The small size is really small. LOL. Also looks like the Boston bag, but different or older siggy series.

I have been eyeing the smaller one, I love the Tivoli style. How has the larger one been holding up? Mod shots?

I want to keep my Rioni Drawstring Top Flap purse open for use in carting stuff back and forth in the house. It started sagging badly - again. I already had a box from Ikea inside it to alleviate sagging (the one currently seen in my profile avatar). But this time the back started sagging. I was keeping the flap inside the purse - I even took off the outer part part of the strap where the magnet is to avoid messing up electonics. I had been thinking of how to make the back panel stiffer. It needed to be perfectly stiff and light. Suddenly a light bulb moment:

I put an extra thin DVD cover inside the zippered pocket on the outside of the back panel. Perfect size and instant fix!

This La Tour Eiffel bag was featured on Bones recently (season 9 episode 7) as part of a set with a trolley. Looked really good! This line is made of vinyl, unlike Signature Brown, which is covered canvas.

The Shoulder Fender now comes in Signature Black as well as Signature Brown! That's huge news. It's the same form factor as the Louis Vuitton Pochette (probably the old version sizewise), with a few extra pockets. Those are fantastic little purses!
