Rioni pics, reveals, etc

Hi everyone,
I'm brand new to the forums and this is my very first post

Love seeing everyone's Rioni bags. I have a small collection of Rioni (love these bags), happy to have found others who love the brand too. I have four so far and plan to increase my collection; large boston in signature, DIB shoulder handbag in signature, dome handle satchel in signature, and satchel organizer in aristo.

Looking forward to participating in such a wonderful forum!

Nice to see you here. If one of these (if they're still sold) can hold say an ipad or laptop of a particular size, that's info that others might be looking for, along with picture or video reviews.

These are still sold but not sure about carrying a laptop or ipad...don't own either so I can't really say. Don't know about doing videos but I definitely want to add pics to my album if I can make one on this forum. Thanks for the welcome tentativepurse.

I take quick pics if I'm somewhere I can borrow a size of laptop or tablet or e-reader I haven't tried yet, that one would assume would fit with not much space to spare.

And yes, you can create albums here.

Hi ladies, new to tPF and wanted to say thanks for your threads I found about Rioni, lots of good info. I had never heard of this brand and started searching for info on it after I spotted this Rioni bag on Overstock:

I have been searching for a white bag FOREVER, but I could never find one that didn't give me a great-grandma vibe, you know? Not that I'm a spring chicken by any means, but I'm not quite ready to go all Sophia Patrillo quite yet.

Anyhoo, I did order this bag from Overstock, and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. Hopefully this will be the just-right-white bag I've been looking for! I also ordered a couple of clearance things from the Rioni website that caught my eye (cosmetic bag, etc.) when I was researching on their website. I'll pop back in after I receive them to give you all the 411 if you're interested.

Of course, if anyone happens to have this "Virtue" bag, I'd love it if you'd share.

I only have Signature Brown and Black purses (and one Aristo), but I remember a thread on here with a lady that found a yellow Rioni while on vacation. Not the same bag, but very similar:

It has been 2 years now since I have had my lux tote and it is still going strong. That is my beater tote and it is awesome. At first the leather straps were very stiff and would actually cut into my cuticles a bit. But once it broke in which did not take very long this has been my to to regular tote. I actually would love one in white and the large size. It is my fav lux tote.

The Luxury tote with a 17 inch Toshiba laptop shoved into it. Doesn't quite fit because the base is too small:

These photos were taken in the shade of trees, and the vachetta is darker in real life than in the photos. Also, since this tote has magnets holding it together at the top, I'm not sure I'd recommend using it to carry a 15 inch laptop. If you do, you should find out where the harddrive is, and position the laptop so the harddrive is closer to the bottom rather than at the top.

I'm a newbie to TPF too

I have mostly the signature brown, I do have one aristo in black, a couple of the Van Gogh and one of the La Tour Eiffel (all three of them are bucket style). I have some slg too.

Recently I ordered the medium tote in the Virtue line from a reputable ebay seller. The bag was gorgeous! I had to sadly send it back due to a manufacturer defect (one of the front hanging straps was longer than the other). Have several Rioni and never ran into that before so I don't think it is something that happens regularly.

The virtue line is not white. The bag I received was a sort of taupe/cream kind of color with chocolate trimming. Definitely not white though. I know the pics look white but the description on Rioni site says cream. But to me it is more like a shade of taupe.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts after you receive your new bag!

I have mostly the brown signature line, but I do have one aristo in black, two Van Gogh buckets, a La Tour Eiffel bucket, and some slgs.

Very helpful, thanks! That does look like the same basic construction of the bag I ordered. I was not able to find any pics of the interior, and if this mine is like this inside, I will definitely like that.

Thanks for the welcome, and for letting me know more about the color. I figured it was probably more off white since they call it Cream. Off white/light taupe is fine with me too, I really was just looking for any kind of white/off white/very light bag so this should hopefully fit the bill.

Well, got the Rioni Cream Virtue shoulder bag in, and it's a keeper!

They are only camera phone pix, so not the best quality, but you get the idea.

I also ordered the Van Gogh Lilies Backpack (mini one) and a Van Gogh Cafe at Night (I'm NOT going to try to spell it in French off the top of my head lol) tote for my daughter. Only problem is I want to keep them myself now . The tote is just beautiful and love the leather trim. Plus I got it for only $59 from the One Day Sale section! Even at the regular price of I think $79, it is a fantastic bag, I really can't believe how great it is for that price. But I will be good and send it to her. She's an art lover, lives in DC and works at a museum, I think she will love it to tote stuff to work. But hey, if not, I'll be glad to take it back off her hands.

General question I haven't seen addressed: where are these bags made? I'm assuming China, given the prices, and that the parent company has a base in Hong Kong. Yes? No?

Thank you BookJockey, and I agree about the slouch! A too structured white bag screams great grandma to me, so...

Not that there's anything wrong with that, heck I'm well into my 40s and prefer to carry reasonably age-appropriate bags, but no need to rush things, right?!

Yes, this particular bag was made in China. The metal logo tag on the front has "MODA ITALIA" in tiny print, which I mistakenly read as "Made in Italy" at first glance, and got excited...LOL, but the inside tag says China. I can't speak for the Aristo or other styles that the other posters have, tho. Perhaps some are made in Italy or USA?

The bags are made in China.

The Company itself is headquartered in California. Chateau Anne. It's not something that's very visible on the Rioni website, but I had a bag drop shipped from Chateau Anne, so I figured it out.
