Yes! I was caught up in the “perfect-ness” of the Burma ruby!!! My thinking was gee whiz, this is really a great classy way to curate my jewelry collection since I don’t have a ruby or an emerald. And the color was amazing. But the overall (relatively) small size of the ring underwhelmed me. I was more in love with the specs of that ring than the actual ring when it was on my finger!!!Congrats! Glad you decided on the diamond!
For what it’s worth, if the fact the ruby was a “pigeon blood” that made you want to get it, in the end, gemstones are very personal. I am a colored gemstone lover and got caught up in what was the “best”, and I had a certified unheated Burma Pigeon Blood ruby, a deep green certified no oil Colombian emerald, blah blah blah...
I have since discovered I like my rubies stop-light bright red (no blue), and I like my emeralds Palmolive glow green (not dark, minimal blue).
I share this with you as I’ve made costly mistakes in the past as to what people think is the best.
In the end, the best is what puts an ear to ear grin on your face when you look at it.
I just wanted to share my thoughts and hope it helped to clear any doubt about your decision.
Congrats again on a great piece of bling!
Enjoy!Thank you everyone!
