The 33 is definitely a mommy bag size if you end up liking the leather. As someone who owns a LOT of balenciagas, although the styling is similar on these bags, the leather is nothing like balenciaga leather.

As usual, I feel a subtle pressure on the coach forum to not say anything negative about the bags. :rtr:

But...I am not being negative, I am just being honest and expressing my feelings about the leather so that people have information since they are buying sight unseen right now.

I am a coach fan as well as a balenciaga fan. They are my two main brands (along with Reed Krakoff bags). You can get a slightly used velo or twiggy (which are the size of the 33 and 24 rhyder respectfully) for the price points of these new Coach bags. It is all a matter of whether you want a new bag or can deal with a pre-loved bag and whether you can deal with the plastic-like leather on these Rhyder bags.

All choices are personal and are the right choice if they are the right choice for YOU. :smile1::cool:

Can you tell me the color code on the tag? I just ordered and my color code is QB/VIO. I'm concerned this is going to be the brass hardware vs. yours which appears to be a gunmetal or pewter color hardware.

oh I would love to see pictures of this. I was dying for this one in the light blue, but they told me it wasn't being made?!? Despite it being featured in many magazines. I heard it might actually be a department store exclusive in the light blue.

My mom and I finally had the opportunity to check out a Rhyder bag (in a medium size) in teal in the store yesterday -- a manager had ordered it for herself and let us look at it.

I respectfully disagree with others' opinions about the leather -- I think it's all in all a gorgeous bag. The leather definitely felt different, yes, but not plastic-y to me. Grainy and lighter, yes. I can see why others might be upset about the quality of the lining -- it IS different -- but I could get used to that. I think it's pretty. All in all, it was great getting a chance to finally see a Rhyder in person and to feel the leather myself. It's a beautiful bag. My mom agrees 100%. And we were thinking, wow, the medium is a fantastic size; the large would be lovely but too big (at least for me).

OP, you're lucky you got this in the violet color now. As of yesterday, my SA told me that there are only 70 violet mediums available in JAX, and she highly doubts they'll even hit stores due to demand. I found that hard to believe that they won't be making more of these, given that the Rhyder seems to be Vevers' big "debut" style, but who knows?! Coach is crazy. All I know is that I can't afford this gorgeous bag right now, and it would be a bummer if they didn't produce more. There is the gorgeous Jade color, though....

Anyway, congrats on a beautiful bag. :) I think it's stunning!

thanks style number is 33689. Coach had told me when I ordered this a few weeks ago that only 200 and some pieces were being made to make these bags "more exclusive" I can't wait to see my large light blue one either. I love the blue too, just might be too big for me.

Haha! Funny and true. I'm not nuts about 495.00 and 650.00 bags with a plastic feel. However, if you look at the LV speedy and the MK bags in this shape they aren't even leather. However, what made me fall in love with Coach was their beautiful leathers. They need to get back to those leathers in my opinion anyhow.
