Congrats. What is the style number??? I thought 32 was not made yet??? These numbers are confusing me
Interesting about the leather complaints. I received my Rhyder Messenger this week in metallic leather and I really like the leather on that particular bag.
This bag is a GORGEOUS color. I'm a huge fan of purple. Can you kindly remind me of the size "number/name"? I can't keep them straight, either. All I know is that I love the medium size at $495. I think this is that bag. Any info on style numbers/etc would be appreciated.
My mom and I finally had the opportunity to check out a Rhyder bag (in a medium size) in teal in the store yesterday -- a manager had ordered it for herself and let us look at it.
I respectfully disagree with others' opinions about the leather -- I think it's all in all a gorgeous bag. The leather definitely felt different, yes, but not plastic-y to me. Grainy and lighter, yes. I can see why others might be upset about the quality of the lining -- it IS different -- but I could get used to that. I think it's pretty. All in all, it was great getting a chance to finally see a Rhyder in person and to feel the leather myself. It's a beautiful bag. My mom agrees 100%. And we were thinking, wow, the medium is a fantastic size; the large would be lovely but too big (at least for me).
OP, you're lucky you got this in the violet color now. As of yesterday, my SA told me that there are only 70 violet mediums available in JAX, and she highly doubts they'll even hit stores due to demand. I found that hard to believe that they won't be making more of these, given that the Rhyder seems to be Vevers' big "debut" style, but who knows?! Coach is crazy. All I know is that I can't afford this gorgeous bag right now, and it would be a bummer if they didn't produce more. There is the gorgeous Jade color, though....
Anyway, congrats on a beautiful bag.

Sorry for the duplicate post. My computer has been doing that lately and it's driving me nuts. Grrr.
I'm actually loving the look of this bag. Since everyone seems to be on the fence about the leather I will have to wait to see it in person before ordering. And even then I hate to buy fp. I know I shouldn't want this bag, it won't work as a mommy bag, but I want it just the same. Hopefully it can stop me lusting after a Balenciaga since it looks somewhat similar. Congrats on your new beauty!
This is the reg size no number, 32 was cancelled and will not be made. So far only 24, soft grain rhyder satchel (this one in reveal no number) and 33 have been made.
Well he definitely succeeded in his plastic-leather quest. Why he would think plastic leather is desirable however is a conversation for him and his therapist.
That's odd that the 32 (or at least what we think is the 32) is cancelled since it is in the fall ad campaign. But that's Coach for you! LOL
If that's the case, there's nothing else I'm even remotely interested in seeing IRL. I am released! I can now go forth and shop elsewhere!

Chiming in as another one who loves these new styles and the leather. I think the Carlyle is a beautiful bag - the leather is soft and supple and appropriate to the style. i love my pebble-y Phoebe's and Madison and Legacy bags too; but those bags are a totally different construction.
I also have the metallic Rhyder 33 and ordered this one in the Teal (not here yet, supposed to come at the end of the month - I hope it does!). The leather is stiffer but it has to be to support the styling of the bag. It had a slight chemical smell from the dye when I unpacked it but that is dissipating in the two days I've had it and it smells like yummy leather now. The lining is a version of the signature - has "coach" embossed in the threads throughout (not "C's" like the Carlyles do if I remember correctly). I'm really happy to have it, I think it has a very contemporary, edgy look and I'm excited to carry it this fall!

I have been searching for this! Can you please tell me the style number? And what color metallic is it? TIA!! A picture would be amazing!!
Its Style number 33738 and it is a bronze metallic. Price is $525. Let me see if I can post a picture from my phone. It never works for me when I do it from my computer!
