Resources for re-selling your bags? Help?

I've sold a LV on a local classified site. In Canada, we have a site called kijiji. I guess it would be similar to Craig's list. Anyway, not only do you get the money in cash directly but also you don't have any fees to pay. You just have to be willing to meet up with strangers to do the transaction.

I have been addicted to MK bags for a couple of years but lately I don't see any new bag that I fall in love and I haven't wore any of my MK bags for couple of months. I have a huge collection maybe little over 14-15 bags and I'm planning to sell at least 10 of them. I'm planning to invest in luxury bags or save some money for my baby boy that due in May.
Where should I sell my MK bags? I was thinking of eBay but I have heard terrible stories such as scams and returns from untrustworthy buyers. Let me know your thoughts and let me know where do you ladies usually sell your bags. Thank you!

I've sold probably 10 MK bags on eBay in the past few years. I've had great luck with buyers. I'm very honest and thorough with my listings (take lots of photos, up front with any marks, scratches, etc) and don't accept returns. I would definitely recommend eBay. The only thing I find annoying is the 10% eBay fee for each item sold and the PayPal fee on top of that. But you'll deal with fees on any listing site anyway so that's really nothing against eBay. Good luck!

Congrats on the upcoming arrival of your baby boy!

Hi!
As you can imagine, people ask where to sell our designer goods nearly everyday on tPF.
Please run a search, I know for sure you'll find a ton of threads.

:ty:

I purchased a bag in Paris last month. It was an impulse purchase and I really don't need it. It's not receiving any interest on eBay, so where should I put it up for sale? Thanks for advance for your advice!

I sold once with Yoogi's and once with Fashionphile. In both cases, it was very easy and completely worry-free.
I have also sold multiple designer items on eBay, which is a little more delicate because seller protection is minimal.

I say if peace of mind is your priority, go with a company like Yoogi's Closet or Fashionphile. If money is your primary concern, you might want to explore other options.

This may be more of a eBay subforum discussion, but anyway...

To be honest, I think the best site would be to sell on Tradesy (I think the European equivalent is Vestiaire Collective). I've used it and I've had no issues with it whatsoever.

If you want absolutely no trouble, sell on Fashionphile or Yoogi's Closet. Be aware, however, that you will lose a sizeable chunk of money. I've used both and have had no problems with either, although Yoogi's tends to be very picky about what they sell (and they tend to offer less than Fashionphile). I've actually gone through this route more because I had a horrible buyer and it just completely turned me off from selling to anyone personally.

I've never used it, but eBay is another good option, and I believe you get the most money from there. I just don't like it because I'm terrified of getting scammed.

There is also Poshmark, which a lot of people like, but I personally hate it. The buyers on there like to lowball a lot and with insulting offers (even worse than Fashionphile or Yoogi's). It's only a good site to unload used clothing and mid-tier brands like Coach or Michael Kors.

And I know this is a real risky one and not everyone recommends this, but I've done craigslist local sales. I've always told buyers to pay cash upfront and that we meet inside a public area (and I will sit in the far back ,away from the entrance with my boyfriend). I only like this because I get the money right away.

Tradesy! I've had good experiences with them. The only downside is the amount of days your proceeds are held up for. I just submitted a pair of worn 2-3 Christian Louboutin booties for a quote on Yoogis and they were only going to pay me $200! They were originally $1295 + tax! Pretty ridiculous of a quote to me, so now I'm turned off by them... I don't sell often, but I was very surprised by Yoogis.

depends on what you have, its condition and what you hope to get back for them. not all consignment shops will accept stuff that is old/vintage or in bad condition. but you will always get more doing it yourself b/c consignment shops take anywhere from 15-30% and even sites like ebay and tradesy and posh take in the range of 10-12%. tradesy is good, but i find that ebay is still better and you get paid right away if you do immediate payment required. tradesy has a 30-day wait now for money and consignments vary in when they pay out. plan ahead for when you need the money b/c you might have a long wait for sales, too.
