Hello, ladies.

I searched this forum to see if there were any recommended reseller sites where I could sell 8 of my Gucci handbags but didn't find anything. I'm trying to avoid eBay due to the high fees. How do you ladies re-home your preloved Gucci handbags?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi scndlslv. I don't sell purses but I follow a few ladies on IG that sell their purses and other luxury items. If you have IG you can start there. You can also post on YouTube.

You could also try Tradesy or Fashionphile but I personally think they don't give you enough money for your items.

Hope this helps.

I have a read about a few TPFs who have been scammed through Instagram transactions, where there is no protection for sellers or buyers.

I can imagine. You have to know your buyer and like anything you purchase on line, get it authenticated before you buy. One reason why I don't buy preloved, especially on line, with the exception of one seller on IG that I have a personal relationship with.

I typically go through Yoogi's Closet when I've sold Gucci in the past. Seems like no matter where you go you'll probably take a hit as far as what they'll offer for it. If you keep that in mind, the offer won't sting quite as much.

I have recently sold my bag to http://www.cashinmybag.com/ They did offer a little bit more than fashionphile and a few other online companies. I also did bargain with them on the phone to increase their offer by $40 (it doesn't hurt to ask). But I was offered pretty low. But since I had purchased the bag at a low cost, I ended making a little money, but only about $40 (good think I bargained up with them). :/

So, I have an old Gucci I want to get rid of, pending authentication from you wonderful people. I tried selling it Yoogi's closet but they don't want it because it's an old style. Any suggestions? Do I have to go the ebay route?

You will get the most money from EBay. However, Gucci bags dont hold value very well. Just be ready for that.

If it it's high-end vintage 'proper' auction houses may sell it for 15-25%. Many of these now have handbag auctions. If it is high-end, send pics to the textile dept (or similar)
