Reserve Leather

If you read through the word salad, it’s exactly what it says. As @indiaink linked above, they are surplus - aka: leftover pieces of leather. Probably from a previous batch of lambskin/calfskin/exotic leather that would otherwise be thrown away. The fettuce that was already cut but perhaps in a colour that has ended its run and won’t be used for the next season. So they make a few more bags/$1100 Dinosaurs out of them.

Much like Hermes does with their Petit H line:
“Petit h is a promise in itself – a promise of free and playful creativity. Its work is based not on a preconceived idea, but on materials that other Hermès métiers have no use for. By combining them in a thousand and one ways, artisans, artists and designers create unique objects with shapes and functions that shine out with their creative wanderings.”
