Resellers getting Chanel items first and selling for premium

I think there will always be a subset of people that will get their hands on a highly sought after bag and look to flip it. But with the new price, and 'limited' supply. I think we are going to see less classic flap bags on sale on the second hand market. Previously people may have wanted to get rid of their Jumbos or less worn bags but there's NO WAY you can replace that bag a similar/reasonable price you bought it for therefore people would be less interested in letting go of classics...

I bought a vintage off IG and DHL lost it. Reseller said they are not liable and parcel insurance is only “by buyer request”. I am new to Chanel and new to buying from Ig. None of it was mentioned on her page nor on our initial interaction when I bought the bag or when she shipped it. I am sitting here thousands of dollars poorer and without a bag. Is this fair? Are there other actions I could take?

The same thing just happened to me, though I purchased from a department store in Europe so they refunded me. However, if there had been a difficulty I would have made a claim with my credit card. Could you try that?

Unfortunately this is always a risk if low value is declared/no insurance.. I’m so sorry this happened to you and I hope you find a solution.. what is DHL’s last word about it?

Seller said they will file a claim. But they also told me they did not declare actual value to save me from customs fee. I am crushed and burned forever from buying off IG. My frustration is they made me feel like I should have known all of this and that this is standard practice for them not to insure unless buyer asks for it. Well, not all buyers are savvy and if that was the case it should have been disclosed early on. I would not have risked my money like that if I had known.

See, I don't know if this is standard practice, but item should always be fully insured. Had you paid with CC or PayPal you'd have a recourse. So sorry that this happened to you. :(

So my SA told me several people have been blacklisted from Chanel because they were resellers! Apparently even with upcoming reserves, each profile is being reviewed. This is so great to hear! I’m just dying to know who these people are and if this means that Instagram accounts will have “less inventory” for in-demand items?

I definitely feel this most recent - and dramatic - price increase is attributed to resellers. They advertise on IG so the prices are out there. On average, resellers are making $1-3k profit on EACH hot bag. Chanel decided to cut the middle man (resellers) and get the extra profit themselves.

A responsible seller will either ask the buyer if they want the full declared value (and insurance) at buyer's expense or they bake it into the cost of the bag. Sorry to hear and hope there is some recourse for you to recoup your money.

Do you have any proof they actually sent it? This all seems very shady.

Redeluxe partnered w Alyssa L. for a giveaway( they are giving away a WOC) and she’s also selling her Deauville with them
That feels so scammy. She always talked about her good fortune in finding preloved CFs and is now contributing to an inflated resell market. I am really confused with her new approach to videos (so many partnerships that I feel she isn’t even selling well like far fetch etc)

I wonder if that’s gonna be the new standard - influencers always partnering with resellers if they don’t become one first.

I am interested in seeing how 21b and 21k play out with new prices and limited stock. I really hope these reseller platforms and resellers in general cool down and stop with this unicorn business. It’s so obnoxious!

I personally don’t even bother with her videos anymore.. I feel everything lately is about buying new items, the dog Wade grooming or playing. It’s becoming repetitive. Last video I saw of her attending some vip events in the city.. it was barely 10sec clip on the video.. I don’t even understand why including it and what is that vip event
