Resellers getting Chanel items first and selling for premium

I feel bad for SAs that have to take the heat from their clients. I know I bend my SA’s ear from time to time. She’s always a good sport about it. I’m certainly not upset with her but she gets to hear about my reseller and Chanel frustrations.

This is so ridiculous to see so many bags on these resale sites and all I see are members on this forum saying they can’t get their hands on a particular bag or customer service is saying bags are sold out. Yet there are new (giftable condition even) ones on FP and other IG sites.

It's even more frustrating that in Canada we get so few products in the country as is, and few stores. I also see individuals playing the flipping game locally to hold hard to find items and turning around for profit. And they're VIPs.

I’m fuming mad right about now. Saw a aquintance buy from reseller and ask where she bought from. Got the biggest slap in the face when I check out the reseller’s ig.

Isn’t there a quota? 7 black classic flap over the counter in one trip. Then bought the pink flap and coco handle that she(reseller) wanted 3 days later. She has been buying the chanel 19 to keep as well. The worst is all 7 black classic sold in 2 days. I heard this resellers bought from the boutiques in japan.

It looks like this reseller is a professional and no doubt will send friends and family members in to stores to join waiting lists and open new accounts to purchase high demand items. Let’s also remember resellers offer money to those who will purchase for them.

How do you stop this as a business? It’s very difficult and without sufficient evidence of reselling what reason do you give to justify stopping suspected Clients from purchasing?

There is no way any staff member would allow multiple quantity purchases to facilitate businesses such as those above when all transactions can now be easily searched by serial numbers.

Buying up all the stock at retail price inflates demand and pushes prospective buyers to resellers. I’d be very interested to see where the money to fund this is coming from though…

I don’t know if this woman was a reseller, but when I was in the Chanel store in the Bay Area (I won’t say of the 3 locations to shop for Chanel where I was) for the stores privacy. A woman just a minute ahead of me was looking at a bag (popular choice). She kept looking at it and then leaving it on the counter to walk away, coming back , walking away to text, coming back etc. The SA helping her wasn’t interested in really helping/ so I’m going to assume it was a random customer. She wanted to buy the bag but the SA told her “you bought a flap yesterday, you are over your limits”. Of course this got her pissed and she kept insisting she wanted to speak to a manager. She then told the SA she would go get her husband. Well, guess what she did?! I know this because my husband was outside waiting for me. She went upto a stranger and offered them extra money for them to use their CC, and she paid them cash!!!! Her SA didn’t care either, she was giggling and laughing like “oh I’m glad you found someone”. So, it’s situations like these that anger me (because I love chanel, don’t resell and am subject to limits).

I am also curious these resellers on IG lives are buying popular multiple SLGs and jelwery with limits and reselling for profit. It’s disgusting.

They can’t stop it. Maybe slow it down slightly. They’re still trying to stop counterfeiting which has been a problem much, much longer!
