Resellers getting Chanel items first and selling for premium

My thoughts exactly! It came outta nowhere and comes across like she’s phishing for general sentiment. That pink is soo not her aesthetic either lol
She’s likes to get opinions of trending topic and it was unusual to snap a bag which is not yours and survey people when you know deep inside it’s not so you! Where is the minimalist hello catwalk city? Last time you were cringing about price increase now you’re fishing for hype and getting a ride. What a disappointment for someone who claims smart with her purchases and financial matters

She’s like most of the luxe influencers, tries to keep up with the jonese, then feigns minimalism when she needs to flip a few bags to recoup money

The sad part is that a lot of people fall for these shenanigans. I see many people on Instagram flip their bags to get new ones. Not everyone can afford to buy a new bag/SLG frequently so most sell from their own collection to fund the new purchase. And most times these are new purchases. And these purchases are from looking at others' videos and Instagram posts/reels. It is a cycle of buying/reselling/flipping!

Selling your bags is fine. I sold a bag once as it was getting worn out so I sold it at a loss. But selling a newly purchased bag just to flip it, make money off it is just beyond me! And they also make pictures, videos, reels of the unboxings, outfit posts including nice lighting, music, brooches, ribbons, etc. After selling, give explanations to validate their reselling. They can do whatever they want with their money and bags but this behavior lowers the chance of other people getting these items at retail. People who will use them for a long time and cherish them.

This thread was created almost an year ago and the influencers are still feeding into this cycle the most. Sadly, they have the highest chance of getting hottest items from the seasons because of the excessive buying.

Sorry rant over. I just get irritated when I am serious about buying, text my SA, and she replies back saying sorry sold out. When I see the same exact item a day or two later being sold at premium by an influencer or a reseller (or both). Ugh!

I agree it is a vicious cycle and not one where consumers are blameless. For as many bags that are flipped by influencers, someone is buying them. Whether from a new collection or from a few collections ago, items are disappearing off IG reseller accounts and Fashionphile at ridiculous prices. I can't remember if it was on this thread or another one but someone bought a pearl bag at almost $18K from a reseller. The same reseller that had 2 other current season medium CFs at $2200 over retail and both sold.

This . Exactly!!! Hellocatwalk is KEEPING UP with the joneses and when it’s price increase season, she waves her minimalism or when she needs to fund another purchase. The tote was proven not for her. Now maybe the dior and many more. Please spare the pink from your consignment boutique !!

It’s okay to sell to fund another unicorn like it’s one bag in and one bag out (that is discipline). we can normalize that, but to make it a business like consignment and to recoup your loss by inflating the price because you are an influencer is just awful

Omg yessss the tote. The endless polling she did on insta only to sell it as soon as she got it. I can’t with her lol

Yup! I have a feeling she will be selling her Dior bag soon too.

Its a pattern at this point, CWC impulse buys, gushes about the bag, suddenly whines about how its not working, then she sells it…LOL.

She also brought her resell page back which is very sus.

Her name reflects the type she is projecting unknowingly: hellocatwalk or hellocopypaste. She always jump on the bandwagon. Very ironic to the image she had tried to convey before.
The pattern is so obvious . And I can’t believe you can post somebody else’s pink bag.

Not to go off topic but I was in nyc today and bergdorf Chanel, saks Chanel and stand alone Chanel on Madison had plenty of classic flaps on display/available for purchase. Black, beige, white, mint green (in small and medium sizes). All displayed on shelves as you walk into the store (not hidden in closets or held for VIPs). Even saw lots of small vanities with chain. Whatever Chanel is doing with the purchase limits/restrictions is working so if you’re in the market for a bag, now is the time to get it. No need to go through resellers or pay a premium. That said, I did not see ANY of the denim bags from 22c at the stores (specifically square mini pearl crush) which is what I really wanted!

All these youtubers are getting farfetch promo codes and I am sure they are getting a kickback for it. Either some sort of farfetch credits or value for a free product and they don't disclose this. ALL of them - Sophie, jurusha, Melsoldera, etc. all recently had farfetch unboxings on things they haven't mentioned before. Some of them will just sell these items to their subscribers later for full price lol.
