Resellers getting Chanel items first and selling for premium

The main difference between Sophie and Alyssa is that Sophie is an entrepreneur and does youtube as a hobby ! Alyssa on the other hand does content creation as her job !
So because content creation is her job she can't be a little less obvious about her sponsorships? I have to agree with @hedgwin99 that there are a lot of people on youtube who make their ads or sponsorships a lott more fun to watch.

To me, she seems like someone that loves bags, but is young, still in college, with limited funds. She has had mostly the same collection for a long time, compared to a lot of other youtubers, and doesn’t have a large collection. She creates her videos mostly with the same bags, and doesn’t add new bags that often. She did even say she felt unsure about doing another unboxing so soon, but mostly everyone in the comments wanted to see her new bag (and the new bag didn’t seem like an impulse purchase - she talked about loving this bag and putting it on her wishlist back in October).

From what I’ve seen, she sells pieces that no longer work for her or don’t make sense for her to keep if she purchases something new that is too redundant, which I think is understandable. I think it is actually pretty responsible to not let your handbag collection grow beyond your current financial means.

Also, so far she is not repeatedly buying bags from new collections just to create content and then selling them right away, or selling them a season or so later. She isn’t hoarding stock or selling new collection bags at a massive premium/profit, like some other problematic people have been doing.

But maybe it will progress to that over time especially if she feels the need to keep creating new content with new bags, more unboxings, etc.
Funny how quickly her channel has changed since you posted this :-s

Thank goodness I’m not looking for validation by posting “content”.
I happily carry my pricey bags with my gym shorts and sneaks all the time, carefree of anyone judging me for not spending the same on my clothes.
I’m comfy and happy!!
yup. But of course, I don't put myself out there as a content creator for style. I buy what I like, wear what I want. I tend to think all of these that are buying the same little zimmerman dresses and the basic blogger jewelry starter kit have no style of their own besides buying expensive things.

No i agree with you ! Am not a fan of Alyssa or any youtuber who literally makes videos only for sponsorship/PR unboxings

These days every single luxury youtuber makes a video on lily silk /senreve/ 7RP/ Ana luisa ..

You guys can check out the Favourite Youtubers thread more CWC stuff posted.

Also have you guys been noticing that a lot of resellers are stuck with bags? It could be just me but for example Opulenthabits... no one is buying? Did people spend too much during covid and price hike hype and now it’s dying down? Must be thinking of saving to travel or go outside again:happydance:

I think it depends. I truly hope the resellers that inflate their bags like crazy get stuck with them heheh. I follow Luxedujour on IG and their bags seem to sell within days if not hours.

Luxedujour is canada based and as far as i see Canada has very limited supply and too many people willing to buy but US has plenty of stores/supply comparatively

i see so many US based resellers stuck with bags too - like if you check out redeluxe.
Chanel prices are crazy and everyone is already talking about Nov price increase

Sounds like good news to me, I hope more resellers get stuck with more bags and starts to reduce their inventory, then let more people have a chance to get their dream bag directly from chanel!

I just bought a 21A CCH off FP and want to see if a Chanel SA would scan microchip so I get some peace lol. Curious how you guys would approach it to increase likelihood. My thoughts are
  • ask her to let me know what the serial number is (but isn't that just the one on the metal chip plate??)
  • ask for repair quote - maybe this will prompt them to scan it
  • be honest and ask them to do me a solid and scan for authenticity
Appreciate your input! Thank you!!

I would be honest and tell them I purchased from FP and ask if they can scan it. I personally prefer to be honest.

I heard from someone who went to a chanel boutique and requested an authentication. Chanel refused it. They said they never do this. I think this is really disappointing. But I heard they are doing it for very good customers...

I laugh whenever I see people being stuck with those sunglass cases on chain. There was a flash of popularity and seems to have died out so quickly. Now most flippers are stuck with it as everyone realized that it's not worth it at all.

Luxedujour is priced too high and even I see a slowdown on their page. Same with other consignors/resellers/flippers. Maybe now they can sell 10 years old bags for what it really is.

I've heard that the plate isn't scannable? It is just literally a metal plate with a serial number on it.
