Resellers getting Chanel items first and selling for premium

I just need to vent somewhere about redeluxe taking modeling photos with the *brand new* bags before they’re sold. If I’m buying something sold as brand new, my expectation is that it has not been lugged around for a photo shoot around the city. I think it’s extremely unprofessional and self absorbed. If they want to model the bags they should buy them and start a separate “influencer” account.

That’s my exact my thoughts when I thought these photos, if they modelling it in their store, it’s ok! But once it was outside on the street, it’s no longer brand new to me

I had to share these posts that I saw on Instagram from that.collection lol. Apparently they are talking about their new policy regarding clients being too nitpicky or whatever… and also trying to justify why they charge premiums. I get what they are saying - but I think they could have been more professional about how they approached it. I just find this to be overly dramatic and quite tacky. Here are the posts:

I complete agree with the extremely tacky comment. From a business standpoint who actually says to current or potential clients that "I'm not your b**** just because"? Not anyone that cares about professionalism.

I agree lol. I was going to specifically mention that comment because I think that was pretty crass of them…

Can’t make that s*** up. I‘m frustrated seeing so many bags from 21K already being offered by resellers. Chanel should make that stop.

Social media can be a terrible thing. It allows for people to let any thought that crosses their mind to manifest into printed words. A good reminder that not everything that you think should be typed out. At least before social media you could only verbally rant to those in close proximity to you. Now your crazy is on display for all to see. Not a great way to built business or clientele.

The past few seasons have been extremely frustrating in that respect. I don't necessarily mind using a PS to source a bag you missed out on in previous seasons (if you are willing to pay the markup for the service) but hate when I see current items being sold on so many IG sites with a significant premium tacked on.

Couldn’t agree more!!!

So what i don't understand is .. Chanel classic flap is not completely handmade ..and so why should the bag be with irregularities in sizing ? can the artisan not use a correct Ruler.. is 24 and 25 cm the same ?

These resellers prey on those people who are desperate, charge a premium and give a educational session too .. This has got to stop at some point !!

I am laughing at all of the NEW and GIFTABLE Mini Rectangle ombres are in stock at Fashionphile. There are a handful marked down by 30% of their original list price; below retail. Sure, they're pretty but someone got greedy buying new and flipping them. How TF they have so many brand new is beyond me, but I hope this starts the decline in markup of Minis in general.

That’s my exact thoughts when I see influencers / resellers posting pictures about their bags that still have the CC hardware protective stickers on.

They rave about how much they love the bag and how excited they are to have the bag in their collection. They’d post lots of modeling pictures of the bag but they never remove the CC hardware protective stickers ( some bags are even from several seasons ago). I guess they’re going to eventually sell those bags in ‘brand new’ condition.

If only ANYTHING Chanel was handmade some of this would make sense. But it's not. The best they've got is that they say the classics are still "hand guided" through the machines. The Lesage days are all but gone too...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this was off-putting. They even had a pic of Je Suis Lou "borrowing" a bag to go out to lunch or something. I'm sure they are very careful with the bags but... completely unnecessary considering the prices they are asking for these.
