i dont know if this is the proper place to post this question but i'm wondering if it's possible to replate a gold keychain to silver? does anyone know where i would take it? and how much do you think it would cost? would it stay silver or chip easily? thanks for any advice!

If it's solid gold (any kt) you can have it rhodium plated. It will appear silver after that. It would be relatively cheap to do.

If it's gold plated or brass, you can't really do it without plating it in nickel first. I doubt any local jeweler would have the means to nickel plate but a shop that does a lot of plating in general might be an option. That's usually something done in a factory or large factory-like shop, not really a jewelry store.

So, basically, if it's solid gold, it should be something that you can get done but if it's not all gold, I doubt it.

Chain links can be really hard to plate because they don't always conduct electricity well (again, unless it's solid gold).
