Repetto - are they worth it?

Did any of you ladies get the front part of your Repettos re-soled? I got 2 pairs from Saks and took them to the cobbler to get it soled but he refused to do it and said the sole will come off after a few wears! Is this true?

I'm curious about this too. I'm thinking about getting flats with leather soles so I can resole them, but of you can't really resole flats, then it's pointless!

Does anyone own these velvet polka spot shoes? PIC. Do you recommend going up just 1 size or 1/2 ? Thanks.

I don't own them, but tried them on. They are cute! They fit like the others...I normally take a 37. My Repettos are 38. Hth!

Thanks gee! My size is sold out on Matches. And I can't find them anywhere. Where did you try them on?

Have you tried mytheresa and farfetch? I have bought from both and they're very efficient and got some great pairs of repettos in the sale from mytheresa :0) I tried my first ones on in the sales at selfridges. Even at full price for the comfort, style and colours and quality I'd say they're worth it full price. I'm usually a 39 but went to a 40 for Repetto's, they do come up small. I did buy a 39.5 too and they are comfortable too but 40 is def a better fit for leather or suede. Having tried on lots of flats and being sick of ones that rub the back of my heels (to the point they're bleeding not good!) I was so glad the day I found mine! I agree they're just like putting on slippers. The soles are quite thin but as long as you're not going hiking in them I personally haven't found it a problem.

Thanks Kate! I am actually looking for the polka dots one and I can't find it anywhere else online besides Matches. I am from Australia so have to buy it online.

Those are lovely :0) I'm sure I had seen them somewhere but if they were on sale they might have sold out and been removed from the website...
stylebop.com seems to have some sizes in the polka dot 30% off and think they would ship to Australia. Sorry I'm not sure what your size is but I would advise you to size up at least half a size, preferably a full size. Hope you find some good luck!

Thanks Kate! I normally wear size 37 but bought the 38.5. Hope they fit! It's better to be a bit bigger rather than smaller anyway. :D Can't wait to receive them.

I added rubber soles before I started wearing it (Dec 2010), and it was only recently that it seems to be falling out. Most probably because the glue has come undone due to all the water I put it through (the unprotected leather is falling apart with the exposure), but 1.5 years of walking in the rain seems alright! I probably should get it resoled soon, just so it doesn't damage the shoe.

(I spent a little more on Vibram soles; the brand most people put on their CL shoes)

p/s: I walk heels-first, so it might not have caused as much damage to the front part of the soles haha! But there is still plenty of friction on mine.

Happy to help, very glad to hear they had a size that'd work for you! I think 38.5 would still be good, you can just pull the bow cord as well which will tighten up the shoe and help it to fit a little snugger. But I agree you definitely don't want your toes all squished! Hope they're with you soon and enjoy wearing them! We're having so much rain here at the moment I have to pick my days carefully when I can wear mine!

I have a pair of repetto flats and I LOVE them! The only thing is that the laces frayed on me and they look kind of messy if they are hanging out now. Has anyone else had this problem before? Anyone have a fix for it?
