Removing pads from jacket

Could be a very obvious answer for this but..I got a vintage Chanel jacket but the shoulder pads make my shoulders look big+. Should I bring to a local tailor or can the Chanel local store remove them?

I would go to Chanel and enquire first. See what they say but I only trust my Chanels to their in house tailors. After removing the pads, the seams may also need adjusting to fit you perfectly. Good luck!

my local Chanel boutique removed the shoulder pads for me for free. you may check with the boutique first. it's quite an easy job for any tailor though...

If your Chanel jacket has shoulder pads it will also be cut to accommodate the pads. Even without the pads you may see where the pads should go or the underarm will sag low under the armpit.

I recently sent in a Chanel jacket thru the boutique for alterations and was advised that they never recommend removing the entire shoulder pads as it will alter the tailoring/look on the garment. Instead the tailors will thin down the pads as much as possible to minimise the padded look on the shoulder
