Regrets, I've had a few...

I have regretted and ended up selling all bags that were very heavy, and I knew better when I bought them. I walk away now, no matter how beautiful, if they are heavy. I have also regretted buying any bag that has too many fasteners or is otherwise prohibitive to get into. Give me a zip or magnetic closure every time.

On the selling side, I will forever regret selling several amazing first-generation Marc Jacobs bags, including a few gorgeous Venetias and a Stella. Ugh. The bag I most regret selling, though, isn't a super high end one. I sold my Cole Haan Large Triple Zip Satchel in Luggage, and have never been able to find another. I still miss it.

I regret putting money into the LV Multicolor line. Fine for teens, maybe, and some adults rock it and rock it hard, but at twenty one I still felt too old for it.

I also regret not buying something (Bal) in 2009 Pourpre or Raisin. They're expensive and I have too many Bals to justify it now, but they were the colours I wanted initially and I still lust for them.

Also regret the bargain YSL Roady I turned down (why do I keep turning down purple bags? Purple's my favourite colour!).

Honestly I hate to say I regret buying 2 bags from Etsy. The sellers didn't do returns, because there was nothing wrong with the merchandise. One bag was a plain black saddle bag a guy had handmade with leather. When I got it the leather was stiff and "ashy" (no idea how else to describe it). He said the bag was made of upholstery leather.

The second was a clutch with a detachable strap (also in black leather). In real like the chain was quite thick and heavy, giving it a cheap "homemade" feel.

Like other posters, I also regret buying junky cheapo bags, when if I saved I could've just gotten something nice!

All of these Etsy regrets just strengthen my doubts about buying high-priced items there. I LOVE 99% of what I've bought from Etsy sellers, but I'm wary of plunking down more than two digits.

Selling my Balenciagas especially the GGHs, I still have a collection, but there were some bags I stupidly sold because I was lusting for another bag, now its impossible to find.

I wish I never bought my MBMJ standard supply tote and the grovee quilty bag. I passed them both onto my sister, she loves MBMJ. The reason I bought it was because of an online 30% off sale. It was totally an impulse buy...

I regret the cheapie not-so-great yet not-so-cheap-either bags I bought when I was younger (even just a few yrs ago) that ended up costing almost as much as some contemporary designer brands when I factored in shipping and taxes. I never used those often and could have easily bought better qualitied and more fashionable designer purses that I would've appreciated much more with the money I could've saved.

I also feel the same way about my first Coach purse. It was my so called gateway drug so I guess without it I might not have made it into the wonderful but potentially dangerous world of designer items, but I got into other brands VERY quickly after that and rarely used (or want to use) that purse again.

Lesson definitely learned. I'm now very careful about my (albeit more expensive) purse purchases. I take time and think them through. Now if only I could be more careful with designer scarves too... Soon...soon.

the chloe edith... i've bought and sold it twice, probably to fund other bag lusts....i cant even remember why....and i just gave in again...this time i hope it's for keeps....i need to start some sort of permanency in my collection...

I regret not buying the bag I saved for and buying cheaper ones instead that are never right.

I feel your pain. It's like when I crave ice cream and eat a bunch of other stuff instead...nothing really fits the bill and I end up still wanting ice cream.

What was the bag you didn't buy?
