What is your greatest handbag regret? Was it passing up a bag you later couldn't stop thinking about? Or getting rid of a bag only to wish you'd held on to it?

I have one of each. In '06 I sold my Caramel Balenciaga Motorcycle bag on ebay for...wait for it...$300!! It was kind of before the craze took off so not as many buyers were looking. I regret it now mainly because I could get so much more for it! Which in turn would mean I could shop for more bags:sad:

I also recently missed the chance to BIN on a Marc Jacobs granite Palais Royal Jackie Bag on ebay. For $299!!!!! Still kicking myself for being too slow on that one:crybaby:

But I suppose if the bag is meant to be...

I regret a lot I buy. Its so easy to fall in love when you read the articles and see the celebs with them but once you get them home it seems like a lot of money for not much. I recently bought the d & g lily and watched it for a few weeks. It is nice but I knew I wouldnt get much use from it. Luckily I was still within the return so its gone back.

I haven't had the chance to buy many bags, but so far I have fell in love with everything I have... even though everything I have isn't really expensive designer LOL!!! I wish I had more money so I can afford to make fashion mistakes! :)

I've been pretty good about not having regrets as to what I have bought.....mainly because I don't buy online where I can't touch and feel and sqeeze the purse. I usually take all the stuffing out and parade around the store with it to get a feel for it, so I basically have no regrets because I can see the true color, too.

Suffice to say, no more online-sample-sale-final-sale purchases for me!

Easier said than done, but I have told my friends to warn me off doing it again!

I wish I had checked a Nordstrom sale thread just one day earlier.... I would have the MJ Christy on my WL then!

For me it's east-west or satchels. They just don't work for me as they look funny on the shoulders and I tend to not like hand carrying my bags. For me, it's shoulder bags all the way. I have a few lovely satchels just sitting in its dustbag.

I regret most of the bags that I have bought, sight unseen, at on line sales. I get caught up in the "great deal" hype. I am trying very hard to buy only in person, or buy something that I have seen and touched in person.
I also have come to regret any hand-held bags that I own, and have sold all but my Hermes Bolide. How could I let an Hermes go??
It's a good feeling to develop a strong sense of what works and what doesn't work. I love seeing my smaller, edited bag collection now.

I only regret the bags I did not/could not buy. I also regret that I am in love with all of my bags and that selling them on ebay is such a pain, because I have too many!

regret sending back the Black Leather Coach Slim Carly I got at Christmas last year....and trading the LV Epi Myrille Speedy by husband bought me a couple of years ago at Christmas (although I loved what I got in the trade). I don't make good decisions at Christmas time...:shame:

My regret was buying the LV Monogram Riveting bag...the most expensive bag I've ever purchased. When I first tried it on it felt too "cumbersome" but I kept it anyway instead of returning it. It was very heavy and strained my shoulder. Once I finally came to terms with the fact that I enjoyed looking at it more than carrying it I sold it...and lost about $600 between the price it sold for and Ebay/Paypal fees.

:casts resurrect thread:

Just needed a place to put this. :girlsigh: My biggest regret was listening to the posters in the Ignes forum over my own instinct, and choosing suede lining for my bespoke bag. (They meant well; the suede IS gorgeous).

Everyone said it wouldn't be too heavy, and I ignored my own feelings that it probably would be...and ended up with a bag that is prohibitively heavy for me. I know it's not THAT heavy of a bag, but it's too much on my bad shoulders, and I don't use it.

So I have a beautiful ~$350 shelf decoration. :shucks:
