Hello everyone,
am a newbie and have become addicted to this site- it's so informative! I know someone posted this earlier, but I need clarification on one little thing. I was asking a SA in Dublin about the Evelyne. I pronounced it the French way, which she didn't understand, and then pronounced it the English way, which thankfully she did. Not to be a pedant or anything, but who is right? I would have adopted her way, but all the staff pronounce Hermes with an 'h' (sorry, can't do graves).
Thanks for all the info!

Well the French way is correct, but, if you cannot communicate then do as the natives do !

etoupe: "eh-toop"

longue: my SM pronounces it as "lonjh" but I seriously doubt that's correct. I pronounce it as "long", with a hard "g" as in Chaise Longue (ie. "shayzz long").
