the clasp looks cumbersome, and the top flap may cave in overtime.

I went for the RK40 in luggage/rust combo. been admiring his stuff for quite sometime, and I've always said that if there was one thing I'd get before the curtain goes down is the RK40.
who knows when we will be graced by his design again? sad but true....
just the other day, I was walking behind a woman and gawking at her bag, then I realized she was carrying the RK40L version in grey. it was so so gorgeous, and me so enchanted by it that I nearly walked into oncoming traffic

Thanks for posting guys! I've wanted an RK40 for awhile and I just bought the pink/nude version for 70 percent off.
Trying to resist the urge to get anything. I love my orange RK40S. I wish they had made more orchid.

I really liked his bags. I was talking to an SA at Nordstrom today and she said they stopped carrying RK about 18 months ago - she said that, aside from the Atlantique, they really weren't selling. I thought his bags were really nice - maybe they were not priced right and that deterred people? I did always wait to get mine on sale, but I usually do that...I don't know.That's the bag I was looking at this morning! So glad you got it - I'm a little jealous.
you should totally go for it especially at this price point
RK40 design is not coming back anytime soon. I like its design/style/color for so many reasons, least of which is that it'll be coveted because it's no longer in production. where else can you get this kind of craftsmanship and quality leather for 650 bucks incl. tax? what really convinced me that I'd miss RK down the road was seeing the larger grey version under the arm of a woman walking down the street, it just looked so chic and modern on her. plus it helps that it wasn't a Celine garden variety!RK is a boutique name, not known to the masses the way Michael Kors is so it'd have to work harder to compete amongst other brands carried by the likes of Nordstrom. as a brand it was relatively young 4-5 years with a couple hits or so under its belt, but it would have needed a lot more time to really take off. it takes serious amounts of capital and sweat to build a global brand, I think RK has talent in spades, he just needed more time. remember that Michael Kors went bankrupt before he hit the big time.

Ha, I did not know that about MK. I think RK's problem was going too big right out of the gate. He should have stuck to handbags and shoes, or handbags and jewelry instead of doing bags, and clothes, and shoes, and jewelry. Also, I think his pricing confused people. I think he was trying to hedge both ways and it didn't work.
I do have have the RK40 in cobalt (and a Boxer and a mini Atlantique). Sale season is really getting me into trouble. I just got a Gucci bag (another great sale - 50% off!) - ugh, I should probably just do it. Who knows when, or if, it'll ever be back...

Totally agree about RK40 and I was looking at that beautiful grey. I have a Fendi 2jours which I absolutely love and have worn to death. The RK40 reminds me of the 2jours and I couldn't resist that price. I know I will get lots of wear out of it. I was even looking at the mini and if they are reduced further I might get one.
