Prepare to be underwhelmed :( I bought one of the RK40 bags just to see, and it was just awful. I cannot get over the plastic feeling faux leather.

They had them on display at my Kohls close to the entrance. No feet, smelly (plastic-like, chemical smell). I would definitely opt for getting a genuine leather handbag on clearance for a higher price! I cannot believe he went from higher priced handbags than Coach to much lower, plastic handbags!

I had to go to the store to look at the stuff in person. Awful plastic feeling and smell. The canvas totes are a bit more decent I think and the clothes, although they look cute from afar, are made of cheap, stiff and clingy material. I didn't see any shoes, then again, the store I went didn't carry the entire collection. The whole collection is already 25% off. I thought today was the release day. I guess they realized the prices were too high for the quality of the pieces.

They've been available on the website for, what, about a week? Another forum member said they gave early access via email to some of their rewards members. I bought one from a seller early on eBay. I just wanted to see one in person and didn't want to wait.

Wow, 25% off plus right now Kohl's is having the 30% coupon. Still not appealing to me but certainly a deal.

This is a very bad direction for the accessories, seriously.
But at least bags are not that bad for the health, bags to be carried not to wear. Just returned the whole order of cole haan leather sneakers( 3 pairs) when saw that they are now lined in grocery bags, oh, pardon, PU. It took only 30 minutes for my feet to become sweaty. Could not believe it.... Sneakers?! Half leather, half PU? Not for vegans anyway, so why? To cut production costs? Description cowardly says nothing about lining material.
:pout:
Asked a question on cole haan website, got answers- its genuine leather( in your dreams), don't know but it looks like leather, and don't think it is leather. Customers have to guess?

HI~~
I did stop into Kohls and check out the Reed bags... cute but just too spendy. You would think that with it not being leather the price would be a little cheaper... I thought of getting one just to use as a "run around..doing errands" bag when I didn't want to carry Coach, but I couldn't get over the smell from the Pleather... I will stick with leather..

Lynne :D

Saw the bags and clothes at an Atlanta area Kohl's last night. I tried on a color-block dress but the fit was weird and I couldn't get over the fabric. One 80-degree day in Atlanta and I would probably self-combust in that dress. I'm passing on the bags, too. I got an original RK40L from the outlet during the sales and I couldn't bring myself to purchase the faux version. I like the canvas totes but the price needs to come down on them a bit more for me.

Hmmm, I didn't notice the canvas totes. Need to go check those out. :D (The current 30% coupon might help.)

ETA--OK, nevermind. The coupon didn't help.

I posted about this in another thread dedicated to RK but I'll say it here: it's karma. Remember when he downed Coach as a bag for "secretaries" and admitted that he had the brand on autopilot while he developed his high-end line? Now that he's flopped as a luxury brand and is being sued into the next century, he deigns to bring his talents back to the masses? Except in cheap plastic materials.

I didn't know that, thanks for sharing. This guy is pathetic!

Lololololololol! This is hilarious! Seems like everything goes to Kohl's to die, now. Juicy Couture, I honestly don't know WHAT Vera Wang is doing there...

By whom is he being sued? Did he stiff a bunch of people when he bailed out of his corporate ego trip?
