Hey everyone, it seems that no one has love for the Marc Jacobs bags, made in Italy back in the days. (At least in Europe) this makes me kind of sad, that there is not much appreciation but on the other hand I can build up (again) a collection. The design and the craftsmanship back in the days were very good. Since the prices for Loewe and and so on are too high- or at least, let’s say it this way- I am not willing to spent that much money for it- I think i have a new collector road. Some are quirky, some are very fun- I will look more into it from now on. 💪🏻 is the situation the same were you live?

Apparently there's a whole revival for 00s fashion especially bags, I'm sure MJ will be in there. I still have my Venetia and I still love it and wear it.

have been looking at them on the resell sites
sellers are lazy and don't list all the details

there is a Stam in a local consigment store but it's too small for everyday or maybe my wallet is too big, might go back and look again

I had high hopes for a revival, similar to what we've seen with Balenciaga bags, when he re-released the Stam last year, but it didn't seem to go over as well and whatever revival (if there was one) seemed dead before it took off.

I've found some really good deals on the oldies at TRR, but I've actually wound up reselling most of what I bought, because they no longer fit my lifestyle .

I think it’s a great time to build up a collection of vintage Marc Jacobs. I’m new to the brand and the last few months have started looking into some of the older pieces. I’ve been able to find a couple from the early 2000s at great prices and will try to keep an eye out for pieces I’ll enjoy at hopefully good prices while it’s still under the radar

Can you all post some pics? I am curious to see. Let’s share the joy. I just purchased one piece - and will be here soon, as soon as it’s here, i will
Post a pic. I find the earlier work from Marc Jacob’s exceptional. It started with this purse - I am always into frame bags and this caught my eye. The weaving and the bits put together are a bit from a wilder side- but I love it. Took it to a play last week and some people ask my about this bag. 😀

Ooh - that is from the Memphis collection!!💕💕

if you have time, please post some pics. I like to see some forgotten oldies.🤩 if you love bags from the past, Marc Jacob’s has to be in. God, they were so expensive back then. And now you find them for 100 euros / 100 dollars from time to time. Still hunting for the Marc Jacob’s bag with the frame pocket (frogs) in front Does somebody remember? They are still expensive on the second market but I am so into the idea, adding this bag to my collection, bc it’s so random 😅

They are such high quality compared to many on offer these days. For the frog bags, I have been looking at those too. I have the nylon one with the frog on a little hang tag and another nylon one that is a clutch with a frog. Also love and still use the old MJ leather bags. I have an old pushlock tote that I have been using as a “knockabout” while traveling, people comment on how nice it is, even with its corner wear and the piping all worn out. I got it for just $22 on the bay. I also have an old stam (with chain!) that I might sell, or I might keep it awhile longer. It’s srsly worn too, the color is worn off the handles but someone who paints bags might enjoy it as a project. Speaking of restoring MJ oldies, I recently got a hold of a Stones bag that needs a little help but she is so posh and gorgeous, I can’t wait to fix her up and take her out. I so love the oldie MJ bags.

Here’s a Daria that I picked up for a great price recently (pls nobody break my heart if it appears inauthentic). I think it was released somewhere in the mid-late 2000s (I’ve seen some posts on here from 2006-2009).
It’s a nice take on the current East-west trend that’s everywhere but with a vintage bag at a great price. Small but mighty!
