Red hot in NYC! Three bag rehab reveal!

Here are some pics of washing the bags. I was nervous about ruining the bright colors. I got very nervous when the wash water started turning pink, then darker and then red, red, red! It was staining my fingers and I had to put on gloves! But the bags came out looking just fine, and now they are clean!

Here is a final pic of all 3 of my reddish NYC rehab bags that cost a total of $50.

I've included my new Paprika Chelsea Katerina in the picture along with a Nambe vase that I picked up at a garage sale last weekend for $10. Since I was using the metal polish I decided to shine up the vase too, it came out very pretty.

I really LOVE this one!!! Nice work!

Thanks, I think it's my favorite of the bunch.

The original owner left quite a few papers inside including a couple of receipts with her name and address. I looked her up and discovered that she is around my age and lives nearby. I was tempted to mail her stuff back to her along with a photo of the rehabbed bag, but I decided that would be mean so I just shredded.

But I often wonder about the original owners that beat-up these bags so badly and then discarded them as junk. I wonder what they would say if they could see them now!

Very nice! I like seeing them all together like this. You're inspiring me to remove the hardware on mine, I've been avoiding doing that, I must admit.

Another great rehab!!!!
I always think of you and your great rehab skills when I find a "classic" Coach that needs some TLC. (I never find the bags for such a great price so I pass on them. )
Congrats on all the hard work! :woohoo::woohoo:

Thanks, my problem is that I find too many vintage bags in need of help! I should stay out of thrift stores and work on my rehab pile!

Twins on the NYC convertible clutch except mine is true red red. I found it at a different goodwill than the one I work at for 35.00. a bit high but I got my employee discount so it was only like 31ish with tax. Also I wouldn't have paid that much except it really is in exceptional condition. Extremely clean inside and the only marks on it are a couple tiny light ink marks that don't show when the flap is closed. I love the red leather and burgundy bags. Those are beautiful rehabs. It takes guts to dunk any red color based bag.
