Regee,

It does look like you have a bit of nail damage underneath that polish. Also are you right handed? The middle finger on my dominant hand is my most vulnerable and most likely to break, chip, flake, whatever.

Does that help? Maybe another coat of gel polish would help or another coat of topcoat would make the overall nail more durable

Looks to me on the top one that the nail itself is peeling and the polish could easily pop right off in that situation. You need to understand that gel polish is not bulletproof and especially with shorter length nails you can chip it.

What do ya mean NOT BULLETPROOF?!?!?!.......heehee:laugh:
No really, I know. It's just I'm hard on my hands, I guess. I don't use my nails as TOOLS, but I tend to ram them into things, unintentionally.
Any tips or pointers, other than the obvious-quit jammin' fingers...;)

Ohhh, Yes! I'm a Righty:smile1: Ok I'll do that next mani. Thanks

I'm not positive I am seeing this correctly, but Regee to me it looks like you might have applied the polish a bit thickly at the nail edge--especially on the thumb. To me the edge looks a lot thicker than down by the cuticle area. Possible?

This is something that has caused me probs in the past. If I get too thick with my efforts to cap off the edges, it causes the edges to peel and/or chip.

This used to happen to me too. I've learned to just sort of "skim" the edges. It's not like capping the free edge with regular np

I didn’t mean to be obvious, but you’d be surprised at how many people will scrub their house all day and be surprised that the polish doesn’t survive. I know when I do something like clean the car with all the cracks that I rub clean with my fingernail in a rag, it does a number on the well used ones...! I do best with slightly longer nails than what you have here, I’m less likely to use them as tools unintentionally when they are a bit longer. There are the usual tips of trying structure so the nails don’t bend, also check to make sure there are no peeley areas prior to adding the polish and if there are, buff them off so the polish can’t lift off with the nail layer. If the polish comes off the nail you can try a bonder, but this looks more like you’re damaging the nail itself and the polish is just along for the ride off ....Don’t know if that’s any help, but it’s what I’ve got :)
