Recs for authentication services?

Does anyone know of another place that will authenticate Chloe bags? I was working with Lesley on a bag I bought when her health issue arose. She had expressed concern about the bag and requested additional photos, but has not yet reviewed them. Is there any other place that might be able to help with an authentication? I'm just worried that it is not authentic, given Lesley's concerns, and I don't want to run out of time to file a claim if there is an issue.

I emailed Chloe once about authenticity and they recommended fakespotters

I've never used them, though so I can't say if they have good service or not.

Thanks for the advice! I'm going to give them a try, since I'm not sure when Lesley will be fully recovered. But my gosh, they are ex-pen-sive! $140 for an authentication letter for eBay/PayPal purposes....yikes!

Now you know why I never used their services. :D

If you need an authentication letter ASAP though they can do it. I'd email them first to make sure they can do it within your time frame.

Right? :smile1:

It's 45 days to open a case with eBay, correct? If so, then I still have a little bit of time. I just know Lesley was going through a lot and wasn't sure that she would be back in enough time. Plus, I'm sure she'll be swamped.

Thanks for the recommendation though...You're a lifesaver! :flowers:

You're welcome! It's 30 days from the date of receipt to open a case with eBay. 45 days is for PayPal.

Great, thanks! I should be okay in the 30 day window. I just want to know whether the Chloe is authentic or not. I'm not used to buying and then having authenticated. (I tried to have it authenticated here beforehand but there is no one to authenticate in the Chloe subforum. Will just pass next time!)

Guys- posted on A4U's FB page today - Lesley is very ill and having issues with her health -

Let's all wish her a speedy recovery!

Maybe she is very ill now, but OP has tried to contact her for the last two weeks of September and during that period of time Lesley posted multiple times on her private FB page and was perfectly fine. Now I am not going to be rude enough to post screenshots (that I have) but maybe enough of constant defending and providing excuses for a service that does not deliver and does not care about the customers.

Nice try to ignore the main content of my reply. I screenshotted it in case all the defenders that always have an excuse for A4U not delivering try to twist or undermine my statement.

Yes, this forum is for adults and it is time A4U acted in adult manner as well.

It is frustrating that they have mail and server issues. No question about it. I am with all those that wish they would fix the problem, I really am. But, I have never seen Lesley make "excuses" for "not delivering" - rather a refund and free service is provided, from my understanding.

Let's face it - there are NO other REPUTABLE services out there, so if people want truly expert authentications, A4U is the way to go.

ETA: Enticeler is extremely reputable for Chanel - but outside of Chanel - who else is there?

Let me make this absolutely clear - I am not questioning the expertise level of A4U.

I am questioning their business practice of lack of acknowledgement and communication both directly with customers and on their media channels, putting their customers through stress of not knowing when and if they can expect assistance and then refunding and free service - that is, if the customer finds this forum and manages to complain. Especially that even if constant email issues are valid, that does not explain that multiple phone calls to the company number remain ignored and unanswered - during business hours and period when the owner is not suffering from illness.

Did I miss the thread or post where you explained exactly what your bad experience was? You seem to have an awful lot of bitterness, care to elaborate? And I am not being snarky - I'm trying to understand what the problem is.

My bad experience was very similar to the other posters here. I also explained exactly what the problem is in the post you just quoted. Finally, calling someone out on their inconsistencies and bad practices does not equal bitterness.

IMO that's kind of the definition of bitterness, but whatever.

Nothing else to say to you except that I wish you had a better experience with them.
