Thanks for sharing. Was your Rebag experience recent?

I plan to take my bag to their WTC store in NYC. A customer service representative told me over the phone that it can be reviewed by an expert there and the buyout can be finalized on the spot—rather than shipping it to the warehouse, which can take forever. I feel like dropping off the bag myself is the safest way to sell to Rebag.
It’s a good idea taking it in person. We are in summer and offers-buyouts are usually lower. I find that offer prices are a bit higher September October. Again, Rebag have been around for a while, they started with a different name, Trendlee, and in my opinion they are a bit slow but steady. I love Fashionphile and Yoogis as they are much faster and reliable as well, but again I find that prices fluctuate among all of them

I just wanted to report that Rebag sent my buyout payment to my wallet a week after I dropped off my bag at their NYC shop. Their buyout offer was $1,000 more than Fashionphile’s and a few hundred dollars more than what I originally paid for the bag, which is why I chose to sell it to them despite all the sketchy stories (I know). I have to admit, I was really nervous the entire time I was waiting for my buyout payment!

The only thing I didn’t like was that they charged me a 3% service fee for cashing out the payment early. That felt like highway robbery.

I am the same way lol, I thankfully have a Rebag location close to me, so I ONLY sell in person. They authenticate and initiate payment in the store before they ship the item off to their Brooklyn warehouse. That eases my mind over any liability issues with damaged/lost/stolen shipments. Dealing with the stores and their online customer service almost seem like two different companies. The in store experience is quite excellent.

As soon as I get payment in my Rebag wallet, I transfer that to my bank like there's no tomorrow lol. I recently noticed the 3% fee which wasn't disclosed to me. I did get a very good price for the bag, but not knowing about the updated transfer fee was pretty annoying. They keep mentioning to keep my payout in my Rebag wallet to build interest, but I'm worried one day the company might go under and I'd lose all my funds

Every one of these Rebag stories smells like a company in financial trouble, burying hidden costs in falsely inflated purchase prices.

A solvent company is straightforward with full disclosure of terms and risks in the quote itself. Waiting 30 days for payment is a gamble that they'll still be around to pay you 30 days later.
I was thinking something so similar, like tell me you have a cash flow problem without telling me lol. I actually had something really strange happen with an online quote. I was looking for a CLAIR instant quote, but it requested pictures. I sent in pictures, and about a week later I received an extremely low quote.

I decided to check to see if CLAIR had been updated to offer an instant price (I have no idea why I decided to check this, but it worked in my favor), and it offered me $500 more for the exact same bag. I called the store to see which quote to accept, and they said that as long as the bag is exactly the same with specified color/condition/etc. that they would honor the higher price.

When I dropped the bag off, I explained the story again. One of the associates mentioned that the online instant generated quotes are almost always higher than what they eventually offer you when they inspect your bag. He said it's always best to have them submit the photos if you are a local, or to submit them online for the most accurate price.

I mentioned that I called the store the other day, and that the online instant quote should be honored if the bag is in the exact same condition as the quote submitted with pictures. He seemed a little hesitant, but I dropped the bag off anyway, and amazingly they honored the higher price, and I was paid out the next day.

Just a useful tip to check what CLAIR offers if your personal photo submission feels low!

I have purchased a ton of preloved bags and typically use FASHIONPHILE and, once, Yoogi’s. All those experiences have been excellent. Rebag is IMO a little odd. My mother is always browsing their site and whenever she sends me a link to look at a bag she’s found, it adds it to a cart for me and then I get so many emails with coupons offers. My impression is that their stuff seems more worn and I don’t like that there’s no description of wear, only pictures. I also requested a quote for a NWT Chanel Jumbo and they offered $1,300.

Try the Clair submission (vs the regular online submission) on Rebag’s app if you haven’t yet. That’s where I submitted a photo of my Hermes Evelyne TPM and the buyout price was significantly higher than Fashionphile’s and it was a few hundred dollars more than what I paid for.

Yeah this is a deliberate move in the company’s business strategy. Several of us a few pages back talked about it. They consistently will come in higher on CLAIR (or even sometimes in photo submissions) than other outlets but when you send in the item, they refuse to honor their quotes. Then the question is how long you have to wait to get your bag returned to you if you don’t want to take their new lower offer based on fictional issues they will find.

I can understand the local folks who can drop off, authenticate, and get immediate payment. But anyone else, is rolling the dice. The bait and switch on offer pricing is not a new business model for them.

Fashionphile has gone down hill since expanding.

DO NOT SELL TO REBAG.

Folks, I think they may be out of cash. They are running some sort of Ponzi like scam when buying bags from sellers.

My sister accepted an offer from them more than a week ago. Rebag received the bags, verified and confirmed the amount that was to be paid yesterday. Late in the day she received a notice from them stating they had an "error" on their end while wiring her bank and would correct today.

Today they say they "put the money in her online wallet" and that counts as payment. If she wants the money in her bank account, they are now taking a 3% fee. Otherwise she has to wait 30 days. The online wallet is store credit. It is not real money, nor what she agreed to. Nor are these the terms on their website right now.

I don't think they have the money they are offering for payouts. They are running some kind of undisclosed "waiting to sell to someone else before you get your money" game.

They are also stalling and refusing to return her bags.
I think there are troubles there as well. They have a bag of mine (since end of June) and told me I will be paid by August 20th at the latest. That's tomorrow. Fingers crossed I get my money....

IMG_6556.webpSaw this on Instagram Threads. This was awful and I feel bad for the seller.

I guess if you’ve made up your mind to sell to Rebag despite all the negative reviews online (like I did), the best way to give them your bag is to drop it off in store. Do not ever ship your bags to Rebag.
