Rant: Giving the Bag Community a Bad Name

Omg yeees! I agree that the community on IG and other social media is WONDERFUL! I was rather talking about those who give the community a bad name by showing poor character to other human beings - nothing wrong with flaunting your beautiful bags in real as well as in virtual life!! ((:
I'm so so sorry that my post came across wrongly! I was referring to those who basically don't give a crap about the brand and it's heritage, the craftsmanship, etc. but instead, just buy it to own it for the sake of showing it off and then thinking they're better than everyone else (talking rudely to SAs, etc.)
So don't worry, I 100% respect and love it when people post their newest bags on IG and share the love

I wish more people would care about the brand and its heritage and craftsmanship too. Sadly, too many purse manufacturers are nothing more than manufacturers.

Haha true, I've never been to the U.S. actually :p

Again, to clarify: I absolutely LOVE it when people flaunt their bags on social media and on the streets! What my problem is when people ACT a certain way, i.e. when they're plain rude to other people and give random pedestrians on the streets dirty looks just for the heck of it.

My rant stemmed from a vlog I was watching of some girl (literally don't remember the user name) and she was carrying a beautiful, authentic Artsy and roamed the streets of LA with her friend and they were yelling things out on the streets like "YOU WISH YOU WERE ME, *****EEES! HAHAHAH" and just being obnoxious and then they walked up to random ladies in the supermarket, filming this with hidden camera, saying "Hello. Excuse me? I'm so sorry but I just noticed you were carrying a really ugly bag. And I just wanted to say I'm SO sorry for you that you'll never be able to afford a double CC" and then her friend added "Omg look at her! She probably doesn't even know what a CC is hhahahah"
And they literally filmed this behaviour with hidden vlogging cam
And even worse: People in the comments were like: "OMG HAHA I LOVE YOU GIRLS! That woman looked so confused hahahah MADE MY DAY" or "OMG I NEED TO BE YOUR FRIEND. YOU ALWAYS HAVE SO MUCH FUN. NO SHAME LOL!"

-.-
Ok, that just makes me want to punch those people. :censor:

People who make those types of videos are for shock and laughs. They don't care about people's feeling or how they look. They just want laughs and fame. Their followers like that type of humor or humiliation. More than likely these people are young. I know your venting, but I don't get offended by people who act like that. What they find good, I do not.

Hmm.

This issue is as old as the world.

Egyptian pharohs. Class struggles.

Kid down the street, who's collected MORE trading cards than his friends.

People want to display wealth, gain status, feel important.

Even just in their own minds.

Many are not above widespread warring & theft & deception to do so.

I consider social media similar. Only with less armored horses.

Why society gives "celebrity" status to bloggers, twitter posts, etc., I have no idea.

Why news reports add social media quips, to spice up facts, I cannot imagine.

It is rambling.

Done through keyboards.

With photos & videos attached.

Nothing more.

Psychos, howling beneath streetlights, now are considered gods.

So long as they have iphones.

Tragic.

Wow! This is a beautiful post! It reads like poetry! [emoji4]

I think the term you're looking for is: parvenu.

Or, following remainsilly's haiku style:

flashy,
trashy,
got some cashy.

(I like the haikus muchly, btw)

HRHCollection has some deep psychological issues.

I just looked up this channel and I couldn't recognize the face or voice well enough to say it was the same lady, sorry! :/ maybe it was also a fan account

But the young woman does portray herself in a very.... Unique way :S not my type of person at all. But apparently we share the same love for sashimi?? Haha...

I think most people I've seen on instagram are just anonymous handbag junkies just like us here ;P obviously the videos you're talking about are just rude behavior, if they're using a hidden camera maybe they're mainly prank channels? Those are the worst channels on youtube, very obnoxious regardless of the angle they try to be funny from.

"If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"
(if you're not familiar with the phrase: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/If_a_tree_falls_in_a_forest )

Without people around them to react to their braggings and one-up-manship, those rude people would stop posting. Unfortunately, they would still have their inner need to make themselves feel better than others, so then they would probably torment their real (non-virtual) friends, family and co-workers to a greater degree.

I do think that these over-the-top boasters should give luxury purchasers pause. Are they just saying out loud and proud what more quiet buyers keep to themselves and nurse quietly in their hearts?

Now I see your point. These girls are tacky as hell. Obviously money can't buy them class.
