Rant: Giving the Bag Community a Bad Name

The Vlog you saw has nothing whatsoever to do with the "bag community" or with people who love and appreciate fine things and like to discuss/share about their hobbies in general. That Vlog is just about immaturity and the vloggers' colossal inferiority complexes. I really don't see the connection between that and people like us who love and enjoy our acquisitions and discuss it in a polite and respectful way at all. There really is NO connection or association and nothing to feel bad about. The vloggers' simply used "purses" as the prop to act obnoxious over. It could have been makeup, hairstyle, manner of dress, style of car or any other number of things. They chose purses. Means nothing.

Bad behavior only reflects poorly on the person that chose bad behavior.

+1.

If the rest of us carry ourselves with dignity and class, then there is nothing to worry about.

Those people are only making fools of themselves for a fleeting moment of internet fame. This is their "high." I recommend not watching so they don't get the satisfaction of views/clicks/likes/etc. Then they'll have to find something else to do with their lives.

Don't feed the trolls.

Hmm.
This issue is as old as the world.
Egyptian pharohs. Class struggles.
Kid down the street, who's collected MORE trading cards than his friends.

People want to display wealth, gain status, feel important.
Even just in their own minds.
Many are not above widespread warring & theft & deception to do so.
I consider social media similar. Only with less armored horses.

Why society gives "celebrity" status to bloggers, twitter posts, etc., I have no idea.
Why news reports add social media quips, to spice up facts, I cannot imagine.
It is rambling.
Done through keyboards.
With photos & videos attached.
Nothing more.

Psychos, howling beneath streetlights, now are considered gods.
So long as they have iphones.
Tragic.

Idiots have always been around, they weren't invented along with the Net. Sometimes people act appallingly on these platforms as a stunt, it gets them views and that's all they care about. As we all know it takes time, skill and effort to do things very well so they go for the cheap shots.

The most important thing is that we understand the DIY media for what it is and don't spend a second of our precious lives being angry or thinking about it.

In this day and age, spewing garbage on the net can lead to losing one's job or worse... So in the end we might be the last ones laughing. Just ignore their channels and don't give them views. :D

True and funny!

My eyebrow raised at instagram, isn't the entire premise behind the site vain validation?

It entirely depends how one uses it! It's an app for sharing images. What type of images is not implied. No rule about posting only selfies :p I post about travel, architecture, fashion, parenting, poetry, occultism, food, beauty, hair...just whatever I enjoy.

I have formed many great connections on IG. You will attract people that fit you!

I know someone and they just have to not only state the brand of what they are wearing just incase you don't recognize it but they also have to tell how expensive it was:throwup:

Hm..sometimes fashion bloggers share because others may want to purchase. I do share the price if it is a great bargain. But usually you just tag the brand in case someone wants to look it up. Which for me means many H&M and Zara Tags :D

I'm not talking about a fashion blogger this is someone I know in real life. I think it's obnoxious to tell someone" I got this new jacket, it was 1,000 dollars" especially when the person you are telling didn't even show interest to begin with.

I just wanted to add that fashion bloggers tend to do this also. Just something that came to my mind when I read this.

I was looking for the video and it got deleted I think! Cos I remember I sent the link to a friend and that same link just redirects me to the youtube page with the :/ -face that says "this video is not available anymore"

but the uploader was called something with rhhcollecting or something. idk maybe it was just a random upload, sorry! xxx

Was it HRHCOLLECTION? Was she and her friend both really blonde?

One YTer that I like spoke of the arrogance of some in the luxury handbag community. She belongs to a private LV group, and there are numerous times when she and others were berated for buying something other than LV. She specifically mentioned her RM and TB bags in a favorites video. They told her that she should only have LV in her collection as the others are beneath the LV status. Her philosophy is similar to mine. I buy what I like be it MK or Chanel.

I watch a lot of luxury vlogs, and I see that attitude with some, but I don't let it bother me. They HATE MK with a passion while I love the brand. Saying that the quality wasn't there. Well. I just watched three different YTers return Chanel. Two of them had stitches that had come undone on some mini flaps, and one had a Boy wallet with scratches and creases on the back. All three were brand new out of the box. So, quality issues can come from any label.

If you're talking about HRHCollection. I would take her comments with a grain of salt. While I watch her videos, she's a trainwreck with TWO broken engagements.
