I compared the new JD bag to its strip-of-leather-down-the-middle twin, and decided the JD version, with its larger flap, has a more balanced look. I’m feelin’ classic messenger vibes. I like it. What do you think? Does it remind you of the Celine 16 bag?

I’m excited.
I immediately thought of the Celine 16 too. Ramesh’s Diane looks much more interesting and well made. That clasp!
Wishing I could get my hands on one to check out the detailing.. super interested in the small version. Except the price:huh:

Though I like most of the JD designs, I’m having difficulty getting over (approximately) $7050USD for a black Diane bag. A Gaby bb is $3K less. I, too, would have to see the bags in person- not because I question the quality- because the bag would have to sing a siren’s song to me. I’d have to be mesmerized to purchase. My daughter still has to decide on a ($$$$) college. If I were to buy a Diane and it didn’t work out, JD isn’t a proven brand (yet) enabling me to sell it in the secondary market. I have to say, the little messenger Diane bag is cute.:girlsigh: I hope to travel to Paris in the next few months and see the bags in person. We’ll see if one comes home with me.

As much as these designs appeal to me, the price tag is  Just when I was thinking there’s only so much you can do with a handbag, Ramesh proves me wrong (again) with that lock. It’s so cool! Edgy and modern but still classic. It looks like it would be very satisfying to close:biggrin: With no plans for the US yet, I’ll just have to wait it out. There’s no way I’m spending that much on something without having it in hand first.

It looks like there are no returns, either. That’s an expensive gamble- even if the purchase results in a store credit. I wonder if 24S will eventually carry JD.

I am needing, as much as one can actually "need" a bag, a double handle bag similar to the B but with a shoulder strap. I am really hoping JD and Ramesh will add one to the collection. I agree about the price being steep, but I have a feeling these bags are beyond amazing in person. Even the metal sides on the Diane look like they may actually be gorgeous. I have such high hopes about these bags and the future of JD.

I agree wholeheartedly with everyone's sentiments thus far. When I first saw the Diane my excitement started to grow, especially since my favorite bag of all time (Hermès or otherwise) is the Passe-Guide. While I love the clasp and design, I'm not totally sold on the etched script on the side...or the price. Which I understand, but agree with @Sourisbrune and others that it's a tough number to swallow.

One other thought about price. Considering the prices of Chanel bags currently and the quality, these prices seem very appropriate. I know the resale isn't there like Chanel, but the quality is so far beyond. (one added note, not a Chanel fan)

I’m looking at the messenger bag, too. I kind of wish the bags had feet, but feet would take away from the metal detailing.

I am not quite sure now after reading the details, I originally thought it was a Nature Calf bag, which turn out to be : Nubuck calf for the flap and natural cowhide for the base of the bag.
Nubuck is okay but it's not my 1st or 2nd choice for leather bags, with maybe adding only 1 in the Saint-Clair collection and it's price tag, please allowed me to quote your words, "the bag would have to sing a siren’s song to me".
Touch and feel in personal would been a must before committed, I feel!

I wouldn’t hold my breath on that - 24S is LVMH and even if they were willing to carry it, JD will need time (years) to ramp up production to be able to stock additional boutiques and sell through 24S global platform.

Which, as I write this, makes me even more inclined to try out a JD bag when I get to Paris…….

If anyone here follows the baghag on IG she has posted some photos and impressions on her IG stories. She’s in Paris now.
I was just looking at the photos that she had posted, and the bags look amazing. I agree with everyone's comments so far about pricing and having to see it in person. The metal details are divine!

Thanks everyone for posting your impressions. I love the Diane bag in chestnut; yes, the price is really steep. I'm also intrigued by the Lectoure bag, which also has a much more accessible price. I hope to visit their store in either November or February (we have two trips to Paris planned over the next five months), so will make an appointment -- I want to see if the Diane is as appealing in person and whether (IMO) the price is justified. I noticed on their site that you can asked to be notified by email when the Lectoure is available but for the Diane an appointment is required (either online or at the store).

Hi friends! It's been a while. I haven't been following the moynat board so I'm happy I found this thread!

Looking at JDs website I'm enamored by the messenger Diane and the vertical tote. No idea why the vertical tote has me but it does.

Excited to see what he brings to the states!

Hope everyone is well!
