Ok everybody I need your opinion! I just snagged this orange Ralph Lauren ricky puffy for $300.00 off ebay and at first I thought "do I need an orange bag? Will I ever use an orange bag?" Lol but I must admit when I just got it in the mail today I love the color and the style of the ricky puffy! Only problem is it was NOT as described! Seller said only flaw was corners were a bit faded and inside was in excellent condition! When in all reality handles were very dirty and leather trim on inside of one of the handles is cracked! Not to mention the hair, lint, and dead bug inside of bag!!!! So my question is friends would you keep and attempt to get cleaned because it is a good price or return! I have sent a message to seller but she has not replied yet! I wonder if Ralph Lauren does any sort of refurbishing??? What would you all do? P.S. I don't mind a pre owned bag with flaws because then I feel like I don't have to be extra careful when I carry it, I just feel like the seller should of mentioned ALL flaws! It's a lovely bag! [emoji173]️[emoji173]️
And what a steal!
I would keep it and try to clean It![emoji3]

I would take a peek at some of Doc Ride's Hermès restoration projects. The handles will be easy to clean, as will the inside.

Ask the seller for a partial refund (maybe $40), and then use that money towards leather care products!

Thank you for the advice!!!! I did ask her yesterday for a partial refund of $50 for cleaning and she is holding firm that the $300 is a great price for the bag and I said "yes it is, if it only had the flaws you stated which were faded corners" but there is a lot of fading throughout the bag and the handles are dirty and cracked and inside was dirty so I agree $300 would've been a great price for the bag if it only had faded corners!

I would be sure to have an authentication done too just to be sure. So you have peace of mind. I would also call Ralph Lauren to be sure they ever made that style in that color and leather. The last puffy/pleated leather Ricky's I saw where only in black and brown thick calf. Ricky bags are VERY heavily counterfeited. Did you already have an authentication done by a good authenticator really familiar with Ricky bags? If you haven't, I would do so right away. It's only a good deal if it is authentic.

They came out with a puffy Ricky in 2007 but only in exotics at the time which spawned lots and lots of counterfeit copies. I would definitely go for a really reputable authentication. A couple of things concern me a little but I'm not an expert in the puffy Ricky. Just be aware they were more heavily counterfeited than any other style due to less hardware and no strapping. I have concerns about the interior as well. If never seen a similar interior in an authentic Ricky. Again I could be wrong, but I'm concerned for you.

The seller has only 15 feedbacks, nothing as high end as a $3,000 Ricky bag, and has a history of selling Christian Louboutin shoes for $100, Gucci sling backs for 50. My biggest concern though is the bag, for several reasons, and since I've owned many Ricky bags. PM me if you would like to.

But either way, definitely get it authenticated while there is time. Crossing fingers for you that it's authentic and you'll be all set. Ralph Lauren doesn't rehab Ricky bags, but there are some places that do. It's expensive though. Close to the price of your bag, which is a red flag too though.

Thank you for the advice! I'm pretty sure it's authentic but I am taking it tomorrow to a RL boutique to get it authenticated just to be sure! But at this point the seller isn't being very professional about this so I m just ready to send it back! SHe keeps saying how wear and tear should be expected when purchasing a pre-owned bag and I keep stating that all flaws should be stated in the description of the listing and I asked her before I paid the only flaw this bag has is wear on the corners and she said yes which was clearly a lie [emoji35][emoji35][emoji35][emoji35][emoji35][emoji35]
