totally agree about the metallic on suede

I bought a slim legacy flap in suede w metallic leather trim and before I could even use it there was a big silver spot from where the metallic flaked off, it's going back

I have an all metallic pink gallery tote that is all metallic leather, and never had that problem with it (it's in for repair right now for a defect on the handles, but it had nothing to do with the metallic leather)

That's why I'm trying to warn people when they get them, so if they truly love them and really want to keep them, they'll at least be extra careful so hopefully it won't happen to theirs.

I remember that not all of Coach's metallic leather does the scratchy-flakey thing, there are some that were treated differently, and I think they said the gallery totes were one of those.

I have the Soho Metallic Hobo, wristlet & wallet. The metallic trim is applied on the most vulnerable parts; handle, around the zipper, piping on the edges, all show subtle wear, not obvious.

I think the metallics are more susceptible to signs of wear because they are applied, instead of infused like a dye. I wouldn't expect Coach to tell me what to do about it, unless it's a new returnable purchase.

These metallics fall under the category of "distinctive leatherware" clean with a damp soft cloth . . .
