I can't remember if they said this or not, but for some reason I think my managers were telling me that a lot of the metallic leather Coach stuff has this happen. I guess just take it in to wherever you got it from and ask them what to do about it? Or maybe one of our intrepid Coach employees on here will be able to answer it for ya. Sorry it's happening to your Carly too.

to the Original Poster, I would steer clear of those suede bags with the metallic leather that you posted. I used to work for an outlet in San Diego. We had an Ali in that same combo. The metallic "paint" (for lack of a better term) scratched off the leather SO easily, and it looked absolutely horrendous afterward.
We had it marked down so far and left it sitting in the clearance section as a Final Sale. A woman finally bought it, but a couple of days later her husband came back into the store (I wasn't working that day, but heard about it afterward) and he put up a huge stink because he wanted to return it and we originally wouldn't let him because it was very clearly marked as a Final Sale. Eventually we ended up refunding him the money after he started yelling inside the store about Coach robbing him and his wife not speaking English very well, but it was a huge mess. I think you'd be so upset if you bought one and it got scratched. It really did look awful.
As for the guy with the wife who doesn't speak English well..I thought he behaved badly and if his wife doesn't understand English that badly then maybe she shouldn't be out on her own without someone to translate for her until she learns it better. JMO though. It really burned me that we refunded the money just because he threw a tantrum.
I bought a slim legacy flap in suede w metallic leather trim and before I could even use it there was a big silver spot from where the metallic flaked off, it's going back
I have an all metallic pink gallery tote that is all metallic leather, and never had that problem with it (it's in for repair right now for a defect on the handles, but it had nothing to do with the metallic leather)
HMMM, I wonder if the gold and straw one, the legacy that I have that the outlets have now, but mine is from the boutique will do that...or the new Carly I just got? The Carly seems to have a different kind of gold than the sueded gold. It seems more sturdy. Is this what you mean? I have not worn it yet. lol
It was a gorgeous bag. I was afraid the fringe would get very dirty. I got the wristlet in the outlet for about $35.00 last month and the manager had this bag, but brought it back. It was already gone when I got there. She kept the wristlet. . I will keep an eye out for you. Wasn't that a limited edition?

I just got that gold signature strap Carly, I have not worn it yet. It seems like a hard leather pebbly to me. I am going to call the store and ask in Jacksonville. Has anyone else said this about the Carly in gold , it is so popular in gold and signature is so pretty.

I think those will be better. On the metallic suede bag I had, it was a realllly pebbled leather, the carly and my metallic tote and the shoes and stuff are a smoother leather, so it may rub off, but I don't think it would flake off like on the pebbled
