to mrssparkles, yes, there is an animal called "customer orders" in FSH. My SA told me, literally, you design the bag in whatever style and H makes for you. The first custom order was the Kelly Lakis designed and requested by Mr. Lakis himself. As Hermes likes the design, H bought the copyright of the design of KL from Mr. Lakis and began production of the bag.
Well, "raquer" means "to cough up." So, maybe it means H is willing to cough up what you want!![]()
wow....this is really something new to me, custome colours, thanks for teaching us, mrssparkles...
MrsSparkles, to the English-speaking, "rack" means shopping rack ie. it is already made and available. But "rack" in France and Europe means "shelf orders" ie. traditionally, orders are given to craftsmen on shelves. In Paris at least, rack orders is equivalent to special orders. The only difference I know of is that elsewhere in the world, H has just come up with a set of rules concerning future SOs eg. interior and piping must match etc. If so, then SOs has become the "third category" because rack orders do not have these same rules.
Perhaps some stores use rack interchangeably with special order; it isn't something I've heard used at my store.
I've heard that on occasion a few small batches of skins/colors that were not plentiful enough to be offered at podium are available at "rack", but generally only as classic bags (no contrast stitching or customization). So, rack seems to be a sort of in between Podium and SO.
