Question for Rolex owners, re: Oyster vs. Jubilee band

Your story sounds so... deja vu! I also *knew* I wanted a midsize, oyster, smooth bezel datejust...

I walked out with a ladies jubilee (hidden clasp), fluted bezel datejust... and I absolutely love it. I have the white face with roman numerals - looks just like your second pic (though I don't think that is my pic). I love love love it! It's a personal choice, though.

It's interesting that you consider the oyster band to be "bling", because I consider the jubilee band and the fluted bezel to be very blingy... just one of the things I love about my watch.

Either way, you can't go wrong... go with what sings to you... good luck!

ETA: found an old pic I had posted in the other Rolex thread:

I was looking at that thread earlier and that watch caught my eye! It's gorgeous! I think when I said the oyster band had more bling it was because the wider midsection of the band is shiny...but you are right, the fluted bezel definitely has some bling, too! I might do the concentric arabic numeral dial to make it a bit more sporty, but the romans are also beautiful.

I think the new Jubilee bracelet with hidden clasp is very gorgeous tho, but since i am getting a casual watch, I decided to go for Oyster bracelet instead, more sporty lol

I love your watch!!! I'm getting ready to order my first rolex and have decided to do a special order for a rose gold and ss datejust with jubilee band. I'm trying to decide between the ladies size and the midsize ...... which is yours? it looks perfect!!

Aw, thanks! Yes, I have a ladies size. The midsize looked too big on me... I'd recommend trying them on just to see the size difference. Your watch sounds like it will be gooooorgeous! May I ask why you have to special order it? You must post pics!!!

Thanks for the confirmation on the size! The watch I picked comes with a white dial with stick markers and I am having it switched to a white dial with rose gold roman numerals, so it has to be ordered. I attached a stock pic of the watch below (with original dial). It might be hard to tell the gold is rose and not yellow because the pic is small, but it is really beautiful. I will definitely post pics when mine arrives, but that won't be until the first week in august:sad:
I fell in love with the rose gold fluted bezel and jubilee band combo. I was tempted to go with a rose gold/ss oyster band, but I have a Tag watch that has a band very similar to the oyster and wanted something different.

^^ Gorgeous choice you made, I love the rose gold combo. I got a the same one as yours except with diamonds as markers. My only regret was that I should have gotten a midsize as oppose to ladies size. My wrist is tiny but still.......

I'm in the process of choosing one for my DD & she will decide next week what she wants. She definitely does not want the Oyster band, which I agree, I like the jubilee band much better. I want her to get the stainless steel since she's quite young but she wants the rose gold combo so we'll see.

Looking forward to your pics :smile1:.

What a sweet gift for your daughter! I'd love to see a modeling pic of your watch with the diamond markers. What color dial did you pick? I'm still torn between the ladies and the mid size............
