ROFLMAO!!!! OMG!! Get out of my head! Yes that white (and black) multi I don't know what the heck....agh! Just no! LOL!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Try again! There has to be a better way to update the brown logoed canvas.

:laugh::laugh::laugh: we are kindred souls. lmao that thing was AWFUL!

My apologies in mis-answering the first time! that's what I get for answering when sleep deprived. I agree that it's like a neutral color that goes with pretty much everything and that the different bags in similar styles may not look different to other people but look vastly different to the owners. I may not "get" it, but conversely I own multiple bags that are essentially the same shape/size, just in different colors. Someone might look at my collection and not understand why, but to me they're different enough and that justifies the purpose.

Personally I don't like splash logos, monograms, etc - I prefer much more minimal and simple bags. I like logos when they are discreet and "fit" well into the bag design.

I think anyway that monograms I particular are like a fil rouge that make a collection distinctive. So I reckon handbags collectors appreciate them. But I don't want to generalise here...

Sorry. What are splash logos? What does that mean please?

I didn't write the comment, so can't say with any degree of certainty what the poster meant by "Splash logos" but I believe they meant monogram / signature logos all over the bag or very large obvious logos...basically so the designer is very obvious, and everyone knows exactly what brand bag you are carrying.

I think people do this, because they like the style so much. Or maybe they are just plain picky with taste. :)

yeah....I guess...find something you like and stick to it lol, I like variety too much though.

Right, they've done the limited editions before which I've never cared for either. It's just strange to me that they haven't done much variation on their monogram as far as colors and the same with the ebene print with colors.
Maybe someday?

I think they've been trying to adjust to the times with many new releases of color in the epi style. And, tons of new bright colors on the interiors of their bags as well as with the empreinte style. But, I get what you're both saying regarding the same original exterior prints remaining unchanged.

I only have one LV monogram, a Neverfull GM in DE.

Got it because it's a very practical bag, light, canvas for easy clean up, and I needed something large for a drive from NYC to Fl that I wouldn't have to worry about.
I imagine that's at least some of the appeal for those that have them in various sizes, and styles.

I do though have about 20 Balenciaga bags. Most are the same style just different colors. One color I have in 2 styles, and when it comes to black, I have 3 with different hardware.
I
love the bag, it works for my lifestyle so there's no reason for me to change.
And you know what they say, if it ain't broke..

somehow I missed this comment before....what caught my attn this time is your avatar....O...M...G.... :roflmfao::roflmfao:

but I certainly understand same bag in diff colors/materials. If I could, I would have my stirrups in EVERY color of EVERY material. I love that bag, and a few black/wht etc. bags makes a lot of sense as well.

I use to wonder the same question too, but I think it all comes down to personal preference and lifestyle. I only own one small LV monogram bag but I do have an assortment of SLGs in that print. I am also a repeat offender too :sweatdrop: However, they all serve a purpose.

Here's an example of when I use my bags in DE but in different styles. At uni: Neverfull MM, it fits everything I need; travelling: Speedy B 30, it fits my traveling essentials and has the security of the zipper and capability of wearing it was a crossbody when needed; shopping/dining out: Alma bb, fits my daily essentials+; Errands/dining out: Pochette Nm, fits my core essentials. I can't imagine myself going to class with a pochette and going to the movies using the Neverfull MM.

As for having the same bag in different prints, leathers or colours, it is because it fits my lifestyle but not everything in my wardrobe, therefore, the different print/leather/colour is needed. Personally, I can never find one pair of shoes that suits all occasions, which I find true for bags aswell. However, I wish I could because it would be out the door within seconds

I do find that some bags are dressier than others even though it is the same print or style but different material. What I am yet to understand is having the same bag in the same print/leather/colour but in different sizes. But then again, it does come down to what people like and the purpose of the bag.

For me canvas bags are light, durable, carefree and pleasing to the eye. I have a friend who dresses in black from head to toe and all her bags and slgs are black, even her car is! But she says it works for her and she is happy. Purchases are meant to be used not collecting dust.

Oh, I use to wonder why people would have the same slgs but in different colours. But then again, it probably suits their needs. Or, maybe because there's always a battle between wants/need because the new colour is just so darn pretty! Also, rotating the slg would extend the life of it?

Sorry for the long post  I'm not here to say who's right or wrong, just my opinion on how/why I use my bags. :p

thx so much for your response. I am really talking about the exact same material, same print, etc. but different [or sometimes same] style bag. If a person has the same bag in different colors, and/or materials that it totally understandable. For instance, I have seen ppl who have literally the same basic "LV" mono print in brown, or the brown squares, or the blue squares [but not necessarily all three] in like 10 different bags.

I spend a lot of time in the LV forum and I own 4 LV bags (as well as other designers). They are all brown. 2 are mono and the other 2 are DE. I do not consider myself a collector of LV at all and I don't know if I will purchase another another LV, time will tell. I'm not going to speak for all LV owners but I will say that I view the brown bags as a neutral and each of my bags serves a different purpose. I have a tote, a crossbody/evening bag, smaller shoulder bag, and a wristlet that is my wallet in all my bags or my quick grab and go.

So yes, I do have 4 brown LV bags but they each have a different function. There are some real hardcore LV collectors over there and they will tell you the purpose/ function for each one of their bags! [emoji23][emoji2][emoji23][emoji2]

To me all those signiture prints, monogrammed, quilted, embossed with letters and such look like a bag inside out as it is a lining material, not upper. Can not accept, simply can not. Same with dinner plate size logos.

lolol, thats EXACTLY what I said about the mk logos lolol :laugh: well I call them "saucer logos"

and when I was young I was definitely all about mono/siggy bags...wanted EVERYONE to know what designer I'm carrying, it's very played out to me now. would prefer no one knows the designer [unless of course they know bamboo handles, stirrup, horsebit, etc. of Gucci]

2 of the same, in drastically different sizes [two mono, two squares] is totally understandable...even one bag in several different colors/materials [an offense of which I am repeatedly guilty] also understandable. But I've seen many ppl with lots of bags right around the same size. I mean, not saying any bag collector must, or even "should" follow my "rules" but I get you liking a style of bag, just seems like you get more with more variety.

I have a nice collection of bags, some "splash logo", some understated, etc. It all boils down to personal preference and what fits for various occasions and events. I keep some very nondescript bags for those times I don't want to draw any attention whatsoever.

A bags is only one part of one's ensemble. Clothes, jewelry, watches, hair, nail and makeup application can speak louder volumes than a bag might.
