Question about G-Bag Sizes and Prices

Although I am not a Tod's expert, the price difference is probably due to size, as there is a small and large size, even though the bags displayed by each store look to be the same size. This bag also comes in leather, which is beautiful. I actually just bought this bag last month from the Tod's store and thus far I really like it. Good luck.

The NM site is incorrect calling that a Media, it is the Grande and they just took it upon themselves to price it higher than the boutique and Saks.

The Media is 775.00 at the boutique and the Grande is 825.00. Just purchased a Grande about an hour ago.

wow - I knew that NM priced a Bottega Sloane bag way above boutique prices, but I thought that was an anomaly.
So I guess buying from a boutique is a better way to go. I wanted to take advantage of the NM gift card, but not if they are pricing their bags above retail!

I absolutely understand your confusion; as often happens w/department stores, the names of the TOD'S bags in the photos are stated incorrectly. The photos both appear to depict the G-bag Sacca Grande. The Saks description, however, states the dimensions of the bag as 20"W X 11½"H X 11"D. Based on these dimensions, I would assume this is the description of the G-bag Shopping Grande (photo below), not the Sacca Grande.

The NM site lists the name as G-bag media tote, which is a totally different bag altogether. It is the bag depicted here: http://www.saksfifthavenue.com/main...282574492708980&bmUID=1250710593560&ev19=1:28

In my experience, NM & Saks often tie the price to the name of the bag, so the prices listed might be for the bag names listed, not the bags depicted in the photos. I have definitely seen this happen in the past.

At the boutiques, I believe the price for the G-bag Sacca Grande (also known as Provence) is somewhere in the neighborhood of $825.00. And I think it's about $765.00 in the media size. Hope this helps. Please don't hesitate to ask additional questions if we can help clarify anything at all. The folks on tPF have been so helpful to me as I've been learning about TOD'S, and I'm more than happy to pass this along.

I agree, the dimensions on the Saks site look like the dimensions for the Shopping Grande which is the $925.00 at the boutique.

Saks & NM are really confusing this and the offical TODS site is pretty useless these days.

I noticed this discrepancy as well. I agree with Swan1 and I'm convinced that there is an error -- either the wrong picture or the wrong description/price. I noticed that the description also says that there are "side pulls" -- the G bag pictured does not have side pulls but the G Bag Media Tote does.

The bag is in "Pre-order" status with a ship date of October, so hopefully a correction will be made before the bag becomes available.

BTW, I saw the bag pictured IRL last week, and the blue color is just lovely!

I've called NM re such probs in the past, and I've been advised that the bag that ships is the bag named––w/the price shown––so I wouldn't base anything on the photo. That said, I don't know how much I'd trust what I'd receive, but you can always call and chat w/someone in CS.

bergdorf is higher than neimans and neimans does price higher than saks (for the same item). saks is closer to retail but may sometimes be slightly higher
