Thank God he is getting better. Sometimes when I think about not having Mochi around it severely depresses me. They are such blessings. If he is wanting sushi, he definitely is fine. LOL

Dynasty, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that yellow bangle and earrings! Seriously, I've never seen such a bright, canary yellow before. The bangle has such fantastic proportions too. That is a really special piece! Wow. Where ever did you find it?

Thanks Jadelover. The band turned out well I think. It was quite a debate about wether to do it or not given that it was not yet cracked, just chipped. I had the strangest feeling that the jade was weak in that spot. I'm just glad it's stronger now since my mother gave it to me.

NYCprincess, glad gold Mochi is alright. He does deserve sushi! How cute!

Haha he is def a brat and begs for food. If we are chopping meat, he hovers like a helicopter.

He loves curry for some reason, but we don't let him have that because it probably has curry/garlic which is not good for him.

That is what I was thinking.... that because it wasn't so translucent it would just be A jade... I like opaque jades. Princess is my favorite one. Hopefully I'm just jumping the gun because the feel of it on the fingers just isn't smooth like my others. If it is just a polishing issue or a spot bleaching issue, that's something else. Still not happy with the idea of it being treated. The seller described it as "natural, undyed A jade" but I guess bleach isn't dye....

There are areas on the bangle that look like that to me, but maybe eye isn't as good.

You mention pores and and poor polish... does this happen often? This looks more like a pore than a b-treated pit?

That makes me feel better about the bangle and the seller, but I think I will still return it because I don't like the way my finger tips feel running over the bangle. It is not smooth. It feels like it is sucking the moisture out of my fingertips.


Oh! And the UJ small princess came! Better polish, more smooth....but one feels like there is a lip on the inside, like the polisher forgot to round that area out. The chime on these sound the same as the gojade bracelet.

Is it just that less jade doesn't ring as long? Or is it because the grain isn't as fine? Or a combination of both?

I really like the coloring of your antique bangle clairejune. It is deep and earthy. Makes me feel grounded and bright.


And thanks all for the commiseration on my flub of my assumed non-A bangle. Once I get pictures to post, I'll name the seller. I'll put the return money into a savings for the red yellow carved jade. :graucho:
