Qn on jade bangle

I tried Jojo one more time but did not contact Jeff. I bought inexpensive pieces though and they came out decent. Just got home almost 11pm here so can't see in proper lighting.

They came pretty fast though with free shipping, having bought them on 1/17 and 1/21

One is $300, the other $99

Anyone know how to pull up photos of bought items on Jojo? The links are dead.

3Jems: Color polish??? (where's that fainting emoticon?)



One more thing to worry about!

How do they do it? Do they add it to the wax? Mixed in or added on top? Is it frosted like cake? Or is like powdered donuts? Is it like food coloring?

Or more like fingernail polish?

I wonder if it hurts the jade over time?

Did they mention if when it fades the polish will still look glassy and just more pale or will it start looking "dead" like B jade?

Did they mention how to detect it? Will it respond to UV? What does it look like when it is louped? I just bought a 20x belomo loupe... I guess the next thing to order is that dual wave UV light.

When you return it to UJ, will you please ask her how she usually detects the color polish?

And if she lets you do pictures, that would be awesome!

3jems, thanks for sharing about color polish. Wow, your teacher at NGI is on the cutting edge of his trade. I'd love to meet him and ask some questions, especially about this polish thing.

Today I went for a manicure wearing my first lavender-green bangle. I asked if they could let me put it under the light for a few seconds. During the nail drying process, I'd seen how my nails were neon blue, if you can imagine that. A bit like glow in the dark kind of effect. When I put the bangle in, there was nothing like that. It just looked like a bangle put under light. So I guess it's probably an A?

If so, it is a fine-grained A bangle, like what Storm Spirit mentioned before. My penlight shows tiny fly wing crystals and a somewhat dense structure, some natural pits but not spider-webby. So maybe i got lucky and got an A for my first bangle. It's just strange that for a fine grained, it doesn't look very luminous or moist on my wrist.

I really must make a trip down to NGI when I am in town and get myself educated.

Thanks all for the kind comments on the bangle... I 'd try to put the carved bangle on like wearable art... Minimal anot ... I think carved bangles have this very ornate feel so I guess I would have to tone down and skip anything else in jade

dynasty - breast feeding is something that takes a lot of commitment. So please get lotsa jade bangles to affirm your hard work !! Lol ..Baby girls looks chubby and love her peach and cream complexion .

Awesome! The lavender one has a very delicate color, but clear... good buy! I like the mix of color on the other one. They look great against your skin. Jade is so flattering when it's the right one!

Any thoughts of having them tested?

Thanks babe wow that vca bracelet is uber cool ... When u posted pictures of that yellow red carved bangle on ebay it got me thinking of getting this carved one haha.... Did u end up getting that too ... If I remember correctly it was alittle small ....

It takes some getting used to wearing a carved bangle ... Given that the rest I own all have smooth surfaces...something new to try with every purchase...

I really, really, really really want that yellow red carved bangle. It is on my watch list. It is most likely too small, but I think once I lose the 30lbs it could work. I am holding out next paycheck just to make sure I don't break bank. If it is meant to be it'll stick around. I'm hoping jade karma works for me.

Thank you! I don't know about the testing. Probably not, no idea where to even send them for testing in New York, and not sure its worth the cost.

3jems, thank goodness you went to have it tested! Now that is completely new to me. I can imagine it now that you have described it. I can see it now on that bangle. So glad you told us about this because from now on, every time I see a bangle with a saturated surface color, I will be suspicious it. Especially with the oil varieties.

Clairjune, just curious, how do we tell if there is colour polish by just looking? Are there any tell tale signs to look out for?

UJ mentioned that she will not take in colored bangles from her supplier if she can see it when she does her checks. But for this bangle, she did not check with her microscope as she never suspect it will hv color polish. Think I should go buy TOTO & 4D lottery tomorrow. What are the odds of me getting a color polished bangle. Some more now the teacher (老&#24072 at NGI recognizes me for the wrong reasons. I'm the gal who keeps buying the wrong bangles. Lol.

Lol...ask him to give u a discount the next time u bring bangles for testing
