i seatch online for color polish, can't find much information, maybe later when i have time will check chinese sites out, see any information about color polish jade... Tyvm for sharing 3Jems.

I've been trying to search on this color polish issue on the web, but so far nothing comes up. Think it is really rare occurrence for now like what the teacher said.

Guess this is pretty new to most of us. It maybe uncommon now, but in the future it will be a common thing for manufacturers to color polish their jade.

GS, yes. Agree that this color polish thing may become more common in future. Especially as more people are aware of the different grades of Jade and many r insisting only on natural grade A jadeite. Another thing for us buyers to be wary about.

3jems, thanks for sharing about color polish. Wow, your teacher at NGI is on the cutting edge of his trade. I'd love to meet him and ask some questions, especially about this polish thing.

Today I went for a manicure wearing my first lavender-green bangle. I asked if they could let me put it under the light for a few seconds. During the nail drying process, I'd seen how my nails were neon blue, if you can imagine that. A bit like glow in the dark kind of effect. When I put the bangle in, there was nothing like that. It just looked like a bangle put under light. So I guess it's probably an A?

If so, it is a fine-grained A bangle, like what Storm Spirit mentioned before. My penlight shows tiny fly wing crystals and a somewhat dense structure, some natural pits but not spider-webby. So maybe i got lucky and got an A for my first bangle. It's just strange that for a fine grained, it doesn't look very luminous or moist on my wrist.

I really must make a trip down to NGI when I am in town and get myself educated.

Hahah. You can talk to the teacher at NGI when u bring your bangles down for testing next time u r in town. He is the old guy seated at the back counter.

Your baby girl is so cute!! Her bangle looks perfect on her! When I took DS to the mall over the weekend, there was a little girl (maybe 1.5yr) with 3 jade bangles and a small gold bangle stacked on her wrist in the play area.... so cute and such a nice sound!

3gems- I m quite shocked at your finding about the color polish thing and frankly I think I agree on your decision to get a refund despite it being grade A . We buy bangles based in how it looks at point of purchase do no point buying it and feeling uncomfortable about how it should look if the color fades etc. Does this color polishing things usually apply just to oil green bangles or bluish tones ones.... I was interested in a bluish bangle mil has earlier... Now this is so e good for thought after u have a major discovery on this color polishing issue. But u can keep your $$$ for more drool worthy things u are sure about in near future yes!!!



Mil got off morning flight and brought back this carved bangle from hk .. Actually I tried this bangle on during dec Xmas trip. It is. Very small only about 50 mm, that's why it's still un sold ... So I told her to get it .

To be honest ... I m averse to carved jade bangles with too many things ruyis plus peaches plus dragons plus Phoenix ... Throw in a couple of clouds too . But somehow this one has very minimal carving which appeal to me. Just a peach and ruyi on one side and a ruyi on the other side . I would have like it alittle better if it wasn't decorated by the beaded border.. But that doesn't bother me too much because I kinda find the peach and ruyi carving dainty enough ..

I m bringing my son for a soak in the pool now so might as well snap a modelled shot....

Hahah. Guess we were all shocked to learn about this color polish thing. I'm so glad that UJ kept to her guarantee on her website and refunded me the money in full. Makes me more assured to buy other bangles from her.

Congrats... Congrats. This carved bangle is so dainty. Me too. I'm afraid of carved bangles that look OTT. They are so elaborate and overly done that it ends up looking messy & gaudy instead of elegant & refined. But yours is perfect. Actually I like the beading on the side. Can imagine all the painstaking work the carver put in to get them all looking just right. A testament to his skill. Enjoy your new bangle. Just in time to show her off during CNY.

Thanks all for the kind comments on the bangle... I 'd try to put the carved bangle on like wearable art... Minimal anot ... I think carved bangles have this very ornate feel so I guess I would have to tone down and skip anything else in jade

dynasty - breast feeding is something that takes a lot of commitment. So please get lotsa jade bangles to affirm your hard work !! Lol ..Baby girls looks chubby and love her peach and cream complexion .

I love the color of this! I think it balances the carving... the beading is quite nice. It puts me in mind of vca's perlee line of bracelets, except since it is jade it is more alive and in sync with the wearer... less flashy and more energy to the owner.

Thanks babe wow that vca bracelet is uber cool ... When u posted pictures of that yellow red carved bangle on ebay it got me thinking of getting this carved one haha.... Did u end up getting that too ... If I remember correctly it was alittle small ....

It takes some getting used to wearing a carved bangle ... Given that the rest I own all have smooth surfaces...something new to try with every purchase...
