Petals, OMG I screamed when I saw your collection!

They're all so uber lovely!

I'm very amazed that outside of Asia you can also get such great quality jadeite! You and Silver Mom are really lucky to have easy access!

Silver Mom - you know, it's great that your dealer is doing the cutting from rough. Personally I think this is the best type of dealers to buy from because usually the workmanship is assured, you can customise sizes, and the prices are way better!

OMG I am still drooling over all your photos...

Anyone has more?? WE WANT MORE! :D
Druzy, she said that she originally bought the stone for the blue bangle and thought it was white when she bought it but it turned out to be blue. She used all of the stone to make this piece. It is amazing. My jeweler has been selling jade for 45 years.

Petals, OMG, OMG. OMG!!!! Wow, just wow. That is my dream to have an arm full like that! They are all amazingly gorgeous and I love that you have included many colors in your collection. Love the violet ones and especially your grey/yellow bangle. How many years have you been collecting for? Do you also collect earrings and beads? I've been thinking for myself that it would be nice to have some matching earrings....anyway, I digress. I am totally impressed with your collection, and thanks so, so much for sharing!

You are very welcome Clairejune, and I am glad that I have the opportunity to share my joy with you all.... only jade lovers won't think I am crazy..haha..

I have been collecting bangles for over 15 years, but only recently that I added a lot more in. I regret that I didn't buy more like 5 years ago before the price hike :(
I also like jade pendants and rings, but not earrings ( I still prefer my diamond studs on my ears:p )

Thanks, I'll check it out.

....Wow...I just loaded into that site...and all I can say is I think I am gonna spend some time there....Love those info...thanks soooo much Clairejune!

jjtt, no I haven't sent mine in for testing. Jojo gives a government certificate with an ID number. You can check it online. I haven't done this because I researched for a long time after being duped into buying a grade B jade bangle in San Francisco China Town (at a prominent jewelry store). Once you research enough and look at enough bangles, B jade for the most part is quite obvious. Visually, they have a translucency which would cost tens of thousands if natural. Some are done well and are not as obvious, but there are always other signs. For example, they always have an etched surface, they are lighter than natural jade, they don't ring the same way when struck as A jade, and they will almost always fluoresce under either long or short wave UV light. I bought such a light and discovered my that my China town bangle is B jade. Tested my new ones, and are different in all these ways. I am beyond confident that they are A grade, and jojo promises to refund anyone ten times the cost if an item is found to be B jade. They don't buy their products from other jade dealers. They buy the boulders at auction from Burma and process them. I think this is where B jade can slip in, when people buy jade that has been handed down from many dealers. The closer you can get to the source, the safer your purchase. I also agree that buying from someone who cuts from rough is the best.
I recommend having yours tested if you are still not sure though. Peace of mind is a GOOD thing:) BTW, hope you will share your treasure if you get it!

Clairejune, this is the lavender I said I saw at my jewelers. The lighting was really bad when I took the picture so it doesn't show up well. I took a picture of the blue one too but the lighting made it look bad. The blue one is almost the same color as my bangle but it doesn't look it in the picture because of the lighting. Sorry. I can go back and get a better picture of them both if you are really interested. I will post a picture of the blue so you can get an idea of how it kinda looks (the shape) but the color is totally off. It really is quite similar to mine.

Wow the color looks so intense...I love it:love:

Thanks. Will definitely share the pic. I hope the purchase goes through

Silver Mom, your dealer struck gold when she thought she had a white but got a rare blue instead. That's the risk and returns that jadeite buyers have to take a gamble on.
