Great idea! I usually hold mine in my lap if there is not an extra seat for it but I'm always worried about spilling something on it when I'm holding it. I think I may have to get one. And a few extra for Christmas gifts.

I bought one of those handbag hooks in December 2008, while down in Buenos Aires. It had tango dancers on it. They were everywhere down there as one can't put one's handbag on an empty seat or it could get ripped off and real fast.

I can't remember where I put the hanger when I got back home. I'm still racking my brain 2 and a half years later trying to remember where I put it. It's probably hiding in a drawer somewhere. LOL!

I bought one on eBay, but after a couple of times I found I never used it. I tend to keep my bag on my lap or on a nearby seat. If a floor is clean and there isn't much choice I'll set my bag down there and wipe it carefully afterwards. I don't even know where my purse hook is now!

I don't usually use one but I would like one now for a light colored bag I have...I have twins and putting it next to them at a restaurant...is a chance for little handprints and food dropping. :D

Anyone have a recommendation?

I've had purse hooks for a few years now, and I use them all the time. I just bought a CLIPA and I love it. It is wonderful in that it will hold any size purse securely on any size table edge. Granted, if there's an extra chair in a restaurant, I'll sit my bag on that, but so many times there isn't and besides, if my bag is hanging, I know it won't be sat down in anything that has been left on the chair ( even if it's been wiped off). With bags with vachetta bottoms, this is especially important.

I use FUMI and love it, I wear it as a bracelet a lot and even got one for my best friend who's not that much into bags but this just knocked her socks off and she was so happy when I got it for her.

The Fumi clips look pretty. I wish they had a picture on how it opens. I am guessing by twisting? I like the versatility of the clipa...I used to hang my bag from the stroller with a closet hook...wish I knew about this sooner. :P
