Purse Hooks / Hangers

I just purchased a Luxe Link purse hook because I'm such a fanatic about keeping my expensive bags in good condition and read that a lot of people use these at restaurants. So...has anyone ever been made fun of for using one or been looked at like you're downright crazy?

Most of my friends look at me like I'm crazy when I pull mine out, but then, they also think I'm crazy for spending as much on bags as I do. It's been a huge help for me in restaurants, since I HATE putting a nice bag on the back of a chair, and I won't put it on the floor. Much better option than sitting it on my lap the entire time :).

Well, if it's between potentially damaging an expensive bag and "looking cool".. sorry, the hook is ALWAYS going to win.

Yes ladies, I'm one of those broads that uses the empty chair to set her purse in and will not move it unless absolutely necessary! At school I frustrated my teachers because I would set it on the desk next to me

Personally, I couldn't care less whether my purse hook is "cool". I spend too much on my bags to have to place them on the ground. In warmer weather, my husband and I love to have dinner outdoors, and I just WON'T put my bags where they will be soiled or stepped on. The only comments I've ever gotten have been positive. In fact, on a couple of occasions I've had strangers stop and admire the purse hook, completely ignoring the perfectly lovely bag hanging from it!

if you feel uncomfortable using it...simply say "I've had my wallet taken out of my purse before when it was on a chairback...this way, nobody can touch my purse without me knowing it!"

makes you sound responsible and not purse-neurotic :)

I think they're adorable and I wouldn't care what people thought!
I can imagine DH's family lauging about it (behind my back of course) and thinking I'm even more high-maintenance...but oh well!
I love my bags and want to protect them!
I'm actualy bidding on one right as we speak :)

i've seen others use them and haven't given it a second thought. it's practical if you care about the condition of your bag. that being said, i don't own one. i've found slinging my bag on the back of my chair works just fine for me.

I have one that I purchased during the holiday season as a emergency standby gift. I guess I should unwrap it and use it. I, for one, use the extra chair. I hate having it hang behind me on a chair.

I have always gotten good feedback when I use mine. sometimes I can't keep the strap on a chair back or there isn't an extra chair around, that's when I pull out the trusty purse hook, works great in a bathroom that doesn't have a hook!

Way cool! I just bought a purse hook on Amazon because I ran into an annoying problem one night at dinner. We ate at a restaurant in a historic building that was very small. All the tables were practically on top of each other and the table that DH and I were at was a two seater. I didn't have another chair to put my bag on so I thought I could put it on the back of my seat but then it'd literally be in arms reach from the people behind us, which made me nervous. The floor was not an option. At that moment I thought, "Why the hell didn't I buy a purse hook a month ago when I was doing research on them? STUPID!"

Anyway, I was crafty and put my bag on the back of my chair and then put my coat over it. I still kept checking on my bag though. :push:

I don't know if I would call them cool! They are useful. I use one at my office. I have a table behind me where my bag hangs and I (believe it or not) use one at home with my kitchen counter---the part that overhangs into the sunroom where you can sit at counter stools...keeps my bag in shape!
