I have a purse hook from Brighton ... got it on Ebay for 30. I've used it several times. Especially in winter. Hermes sold one as part of their Petit H collection I think it was ... $500!
I bought a clipa bag hook from Amazon for those times a public bathroom has no hook to hang my purse on; however I tried it around my house and the hook and bag fell off every time.
I tried it both where it hooked over the edge and where it was supposed to rest on the silicone pad but each time my bag landed on the floor.
What do you use for such a situation?

That is also my experience. I have three Clipas, only because I keep losing them in the bowels of my closet.
The Clipa is the only hook I recommend.
So I tried again with some items in my purse, sometimes it held up sometimes it fell. Not sure if I'm not using it correctly?
Yes that's what I tried. I just don't want to be in a public restroom and have my bag plop onto the floor.....
