No one cares enough to ban you, or delete your comment/ thread. It's really not that big of a deal. People believe all kinds of conspiracy theories online, it's un-avoidable in today's tech world. My brother thinks that the moon landing was faked . Some people think we delete all threads we don't like and have some crazy agenda to only authenticate certain bags. Eh.. wadda ya going to do? Can't win them all. Carry on..
My 2 previous posts have been deleted, just because I reported a post on purchasing a fake Hermes scarf on a major Japanese retail site called Global Rakuten. I have pics to prove it; fake box, polyester static scarf, never-reissued print/color verified from the Hermes shop in Tokyo, etc. Yet, the moderators here deleted my post. Why would warning fellow members here be considered a "non-qualified authentication" by a person who's not an "expert"? The effort to delete a post like mine seems rather fishy than helpful by the moderators. If we are to really try to eradicate fake items online, then all forms of report on fake items circulating the web should be welcomed, not deleted.

Your post was deleted because it incorrectly identified a listed item as fake. Nothing fishy at all about the deletion - it is done routinely when this happens and no "effort" required. As others have noted, we ask that members have a fairly high number of posts demonstrating overall brand knowledge before offering authentication opinions. Thanks for your understanding.

What part was "incorrect"? All I did was reported what happened when I purchased a scarf from a Japanese online site that was also confirmed by the official Hermes shop in Tokyo (Isetan store) to be fake. Who better than the official Hermes boutique to verify the authenticity of a scarf?

The photos of the scarf in the link you posted did not show a fake.

I could argue the opposite. The person who might be selling fakes online would have more investment in posting 500+ comments to become an "expert" to authenticate here rather than a person like myself, who is only interested in buying genuine items. My investment in this site would be to help fellow consumers like myself, not sellers. So in a sense, just because I posted less in the past does not have any bearing on my commitment to helping out other members.
It isn't just post count that allows someone to start authenticating.

The 500-post count requirement is in effect to allow unproven posters to prove themselves by demonstrating their knowledge.

And do you not think that if someone posted misinformation one of the "real" experts wouldn't call them out on it? You'd better believe it!! It happens all the time, whether the poster incorrectly authenticates or if it's in another subforum and the advice given is bad. They're promptly corrected and sometimes, even not-so-nicely advised not to give bad information.

Here's one example where a newbie was called on posting misinformation, called on it and got defensive. It starts here and the correction continues for several posts:

There are reasons for rules and it's not a conspiracy to allow fakes to be sold by special snowflakes!

Design houses are notorious for deeming authentic items as fake when they're aware that those items were purchased from "unauthorized" resellers. It happens all the time! They want buyers to shop directly from them and what better way to try to accomplish that goal by deeming outside purchases as fake?

And further, SAs at stores aren't trained nor allowed to authenticate. They rarely have the extensive knowledge required to recognize legitimate changes that have been made over the years. What may have been a "fake" red flag 10 years ago could make an item authentic in a more recent item.

You can choose to be cynical and not trust or you can open your mind, do some reading and perhaps your mind might be changed. Or if you don't like it and dislike the policies, no one forces you to hang around.

You might also find that people are more willing to be patient with you and give you the benefit of the doubt when you DON'T post something like this on the ComplaintsBoard:
"... Anyway, with all my deleted posts and the false verification by the "experts" there, I came to a conclusion that Purse forum might be a scam."

You're entitled to your opinion, and if you want to post it at the CB or on the front page of the New York Times, that's your privilege and your right. But you don't seem to be willing to listen to what the members here are telling you, and that's part of your problem

Oh wow. If you're slamming and libeling this site on another site, perhaps tpf isn't the site for you.

There is no scam here. But plenty of disgruntled, mentally ill, unreasonable and scamming authenticators, sellers and buyers that like to post unfounded comments on the Complaints Board. Just be sure to lock your doors at night if you post there. The neighbors are not very reliable or honest.
