One of the reasons I joined this site was to share my negative experience and to warn other members, which I thought would be welcomed rather than rejected.
As I said before, I always bought scarves directly from shops and since starting to buy vintage designs online a few months ago, I was able to collect a few very nice ole designs. But out of the nine I purchased so far, to my surprise, 2 turned out to be super A-level fakes. One vendor profusely apologized, but this particular one was adamant. Thus my battle with them.
I have nothing at stake since I got my money back from the vendor. But it's the principle that matters. I want to prevent fakes from being sold online. However, it seems like from the hierarchical bullying attitude here, this principal becomes secondary to the egos of the established experts here. Why should I apologize for having a different opinion? Something is amiss here.
"The person you mentioned is one of our most respected members here and I trust her expertise on Hermes scarves, and you call her a fraud? I believe that you owe her and this forum an apology."
Wow, this is truly fascism at its worst. Please go an read on what Fascism is and you'll see how the culture established here is precisely that. When objectivity is quelled by arbitrary rules of a community and thus no logic is acceptable, and people blindly obey to hierarchy, then this is fascism. Remember how the Holocaust systematically occurred! But what's the point of trying to educate you. Surferchick did in fact authenticate a fake item (or course not all, but a few that I could even tell), which annoyed me. This is another reason why I wanted to join this site so I could help out others, but who would listen to me. I am in NO position to authenticate, right? Anyway, good luck!
You can use the words bullying and fascism as much as you want but it doesn't make it so.
Please research the definition of fascism.
Rules are not bullying.
Opinions are not fascism or bullying.
Comparing your experience to how the Holocaust happened is actually offensive.
