Purse care-guard

Hi everyone,

I am fairly new to the forum. I was wondering, when you spray your purses with guard, do you need to cover up the hardware or do you just spray over the hardware?

Good question...And just to add, what brand do you use and what type of leather do you use it on? Do you spray ALL of your bags? Or just the fragile ones?

Welcome to TPF! I think most ladies here use Apple products, there's a thread with lots of good info in it, I've posted the link below. I've used Apple myself, just the moisturizer and spray, and had great results so far. I didn't cover the hardware, I just tried to wipe off any spray that got on it, and of course tried to not put the moisturizer on the hardware.

I do not cover the hardware. I spray all my leather bags, accessories, keychains, shoes, and light color cloth (parker butterfly wristlet) with apple guarde, though I am more picky about spraying my metallic and light colored bags right away with a good 2 coats.

i don't cover up the hardware at all! I use apple leather care and have never had any problems. I do use loving my bags for the handles though
