I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

I just had a horrible thought.

Given that Mattel is now making every sort of Barbie you can imagine, what if they decide to make… Claw Barbie?

Would have a few interchangeable wigs and faces in different shades, super skinny legs, and lifelike hands that open and close in claw position. None of the fashion outfits would fit properly, of course, and maybe she’d have a boyfriend named Ginger Whinger, with permanent angry scowl, flocked hair ( except for middle of head) and beard.
GW comes with sloppy jeans, white T shirts, and no shoes.

Hiring a stylist would be admitting she needs someone’s help with her image. That will never happen.

It's more than that. In a Royal Grift episode, it was explained in detail how she can make money from the clothing. The point that was made was that all she really has to do is just wear it. It doesn't matter how it looks, fits, is or if is not flattering. It really explains why we have seen her in so many things that one glance in the mirror would keep you from stepping outside the front door. A stylist would never want to be associated with this because it would reflect badly on them and they wouldn't get future work. Not to mention the ego factor. The fact that stars like Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain or Reese Witherspoon use professionals so they look marvelous all the time is totally lost on her. The filthy lucre is more important. She doesn't make the connection that looking good is part of the popularity of the previous mentioned actresses. Everyone knows that Meryl Streep and Frances McDormand are primo actresses, but rarely do they look they good IMO, and it doesn't really matter for them. Frances verges on the eccentric and Meryl looks like she found the gown on the sale rack at Target. Meghan doesn't qualify.
