Prince Harry and Meghan Markle thread

I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Thanks for reading.

As soon as I saw this, I thought "right, I wouldn't buy this now". Not that I'd buy it, anyway, £10 will buy necessary items, but to include the Harkles will definitely tank sales, I'd have thought.

The Coronation, in respect of royals, is for working royals, not back-stabbers like The Harkles. The group photo dates back to 2018, apparently, which says it all.

Very disappointed, Charles, this is a State Occasion, not a "family" one.
Unless they fix the photo, I don't buy any coronation souvenirs either!

This is another reason why many of us don't like the Harkles. PLEASE stop paying for vomit-inducing articles.

She does realise this is going to fire up the rumours surely?
We all know a bunch of flowers are a common add on accessory for dolls from barbie to Lego figs
He's not even holding the flowers! If you've watched the video you can clearly see the bouquet is in M's hand. Where would he even get such flowers anyway? Clearly someone would hand them to him but if you look closely, he's moving his right arm right when he's supposed to hand the flowers to TW and you can see it's M handing herself flowers. The kid is not even looking at her!
also good to see they managed to get their kids away to privacy so they wouldn’t be pimped out doing empty symbolic rituals for the cameras :graucho:

Also thanks for doing the clicking for us- you are a trooper!
That’s what I think. He never left.
I think that’s an interesting idea. You think he’s beetling about doing little bits of paperwork? Or just doing some private things in soho toilets ?

That there is no current photograph and one that includes the Sussex children is totally on them. They can’t complain
Since when has that ever stopped them from complaining?

If the mean family (William? Catherine? Camilla?) would have just given the Harkles' camera and Nflix crews full access during the Jubilee and funeral, then we'd have the full family photos that the world is crying out for! (Or some such nonsense) How can we forget that nothing is ever their fault?! They are VICTIMS!!!

Ahhh, I was wondering about that one, why they took a clip out of the Netflix Mockumentary, so long after it aired.
I also rolled my eyes at that bouquet. When little kids bring you flowers, it’s usually a few tortured blooms clutched in their little fist.
I still remember my oldest proudly bringing me a dandelion flower.

Another example of the press stirring the pot on what should be a non issue, I admit it’s my opinion. But, seriously, what’s next “Charles seeks to appease Andrew by including his photo in Official Coronation Souvenir Programme”?

The description of the Programme on the website where it can be ordered makes the intent of the publication clear:

It ”tells the life stories of their Majesties…”. The FACT is King Charles is father to 2 sons and father-in-law to their wives. There is no “olive branch” in acknowledging it in what is a historical document published in support of the Royal Collection Trust and SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity.

Ignoring this FACT would be sinking to the Markled level of life, e.g. Ghoul ignoring the facts of her Ragland and Markle relatives. Thank goodness the RF did not “go low”.

Given the Grifters are a fact of life, the choice of this photo is, I think, excellent, in context:

1. The King is the focus. It marks his 70th Birthday, one often viewed as significant and appropriate for inclusion in a “life story”.

2. It is NOT a picture that features H and TW, as, for an example, using a photo from their wedding, would have done.

3. The lunging woman in the back row looks weird, but even she can’t detract from the grandchildren and general mood of the photo, which is upbeat in support of “Grandpa Wales,” as his grandchildren in the picture call him.

4. A family photo emphasizes what the Harkles have thrown away. Someday their children will view this and have to cope with all the baggage that prevented them from being in a similar picture at these ages.

5. This is not a new picture, it has been in the public domain for 4 years, kind of “Ho hum” except for the “olive branch” spin being given to it now.

6. Finally, this was one of two photos taken by photographer Chris Jackson at Clarence House that day. One was more formal, this one, the second shot, was described on line and, given these comments, maybe we can understand why this version was used. Perhaps a rare day of family fun in a lifetime story?

Ok, there is common sense in this world, I do not post social media photos of others and their children without their permission, microphones is sooooo tasteless ,

ok, ok, ok, since when has common sense had anything to do with H and M ?

And honestly, the bouquet is all wrong, at that age, kids pick dandelions to offer in bouquets, not hybrid roses grown in a greenhouse, this was sooo stage managed …
