Prince Harry and Meghan Markle thread

I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Thanks for reading.

She was very clear. She said, ‘My grandsons have taken my shilling, therefore they must do their duty.’ And that was that.

“But it was decided that William as heir to the heir, the risk is too great.

“But for his younger brother, the risk was acceptable…”

Despite William wanting to join the war, he was prevented from doing so given his position as a future King.

Mark Cann, director of the British Forces Foundation, tells the series: “William was very keen to go. Unequivocally.

“But it was complex, and some very great minds and experienced people took a view on it.

“I think it was really tricky. Anybody who’s in the military who hasn’t actually been on operation feels a sense of disappointment.

“And I think especially that was the one (war) at the time, you’ve got everyone around you at the time who’s been involved in it. So there is a sense of disappointment.”

The series also examines storylines from Netflix drama, The Crown, to reach the truth about The Windsors.

It shows how Harry followed in the footsteps of his uncle, Andrew, who flew on multiple helicopter missions during the 1982 Falklands War.

Charles was also forbidden from going to war.

And the documentary reveals he had little sympathy for the behaviour of his troubled brother Andrew — in contrast to the relationship between the Queen and her sister Princess Margaret."

For what it's worth! :girlshocked:

If only they would just decide to stay at home and enjoy their birthright in privacy. Which also begs the question, does this mean the baker, butcher and candlestick maker are all pending decision about whether or not Merchie is celebrating his alleged birthday in London?

What the hell did I just watch? It’s an Easter egg hunt video that has absolutely no sign of any children. What fun! They hired a camera crew explicitly to film themselves placing the eggs in the yard like the f*cked up egomaniacs they are.

I'm like :wtf: !

Harry calls Doria "Grandma"
Harry says "That's why I got married"
Harry ushers out a dag and says "Let's go family"
All for an Easter egg hunt for no children or one 2 year old.

That wasn't reality TV, that was travesty TV

Deranged, deluded, beyond help!

What the very F!

I also thought Zed looked dumpy and stumpy at the mourning walkabout, like all she did was slip on a sack dress from the 80% off rack at J. Jill and couldn't be bothered to style her hair. In her defense ( ), she was standing near Catherine, so there's that. Of course, that made her look even worse. Zed and Haz were probably jubilant and couldn't contain themselves at the thought of a big inheritance. She had to conserve her energy for the dramatic curtsey the next day. Surprising her huge stupid looking beach hat didn't fall off when she did. Or start on fire from the candle.

I never noticed before, but in terms of fashion, even appropriateness that's a fail. With short sleeves she needed a jacket. I don't like that both women had their hair down like visiting school girls either.

Maybe they're totally different when not being filmed, but they seem so BORING. Very word salady convos seem the norm. It's like listening to a conversation on NPR. Everything is serious. Everything has an alleged purpose or reason for deceit.

If someone hid a camera in our house, they'd think we were total nut cases because we are always laughing, teasing, yelling out to each other...granted our kids are older, but it was even worse when they were young! There wasn't a quiet moment in the house. I didn't go for a stroll "around the bridge" in my backyard in bare feet to gently place Easter eggs, but rather frantically hid eggs in the yard after dark after the kids were asleep. They're so dull. No personality whatsoever. Whatever Haz had once, has been sucked up and disposed of in yesterday's trash.

It actually felt scripted - like a kids show 'come children, now we go out to play in our lovely garden, and what a pretty garden, isn't it a pretty garden grandma?'. H definitely sounds like an imbecile.

I mean Harry really labours the points: I AM MARRIED; I HAVE A FAMILY; WE ARE HAPPY. The first two things are understood, and the third can only be demonstrated, we don't need a witness statement.

I don't have kids and I'm not as old as Doria, but if my grown-up SIL called me 'grandma' without the grandkids being present, I'd put him right. Like, I have a name right? I am a person, I am your elder so your senior, so treat me with respect.

So predictable  Maybe in May news will drop she's megnant hence her non-attendance.

I’m surprised that she couldn’t figure out a way to use attendance at the coronation as yet another merching opportunity for herself. The only way she would decide to stay home was if she couldn’t derive enough benefit from her attendance. Maybe she’s scared of getting loudly booed if she shows her face anywhere in the UK. Or maybe she was not invited after all so had no choice but to stay home. I would love to know the real story.

My take: she wants to keep the kids in the US, doesn’t want to risk them not being let out of the UK if she takes them to the coronation. It also wouldn’t surprise me if she sends Harry away and then breaks the news of a divorce/separation petition.
I agree that she probably doesn’t want to risk bringing the kids to the UK at this point but They’ve left the kids at home with the nannies and Doria before while they gallivanted off to the Invictus games and other events so I don’t see concern for the kids stopping her from taking advantage of the opportunity for multiple photo ops at the coronation.
