Prince Harry and Meghan Markle thread

I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Thanks for reading.

That was her plan all along. She just had to sell him on it.
i could see Harry going with this and her telling him that she just needed some time to soften up his father and grandmother to give them what they wanted. She thought she could work her magic on them the same way she did on him.

Weren’t they blindsided by being asked to leave sooner than they expected? They certainly seemed unprepared for the half in/out refusal.

Because they were unfamiliar with the word "No". I doubt either heard it very much while growing up.
Or even when they had already grown up.

I wonder what sob stories Zed used on her marks. Thomas Markle caved because she was his spoilt little princess. She used the poor little "practically an orphan" line on Trevor. What did she use on Corey? Must have been a good one since she was also being an international yacht girl while sponging off him.

Good news - for us

The media is becoming less worried about telling it as is. Interesting what she says about her coat of arms.

It's somehow fitting that when I look at ILBW's side of the Sucksexes' coat of arms, the first thing that comes to mind after seeing the image and hearing those comments is "choking the chicken".

For anyone who's not familiar with the term, this explains it. Don't read if you're easily offended.

I don't think H&M want to go to the Coronation.

Their demands (if true) are so ridiculous, they're like the list Cinders is given before she may be given permission to go to the ball (long version of Grimm Cinderella) Harvest every apple from the orchard etc.
“Cinderella may go to the ball on one condition,” she said. She turned to Cinderella. “You must complete all of these chores first. Her stepmother handed Cinderella a list that went onto the floor.
“But the ball is tonight,” Cinderella said. “I’ll never get all this done in time.”
“Exactly,” her stepmother smiled. And her stepsisters laughed and laughed.
Madeleine Francis version

I don't know if you've read the 'conditions' but one is H&M want proof that 7 members of the BRF have done inclusivity and diversity training

From Geo News
If the couple decides to attend, Fordwich foresees some problems which she termed it as a “lose-lose” situation.

“On the one hand, if they do accept their invitation the likelihood of being booed by the British public, whom they threw under the bus, is highly likely,” she explained.

Citing recent polls and the couple’s remarks about the Firm’s racism in their Netflix documentary, the expert said, “With their comments regarding racism in the wake of the Brexit vote (thereby insulting 17.4 million Brits) as well as the insults to the treasured royal family, recent polls have shown how disgruntled and perhaps disgusted the public is with them.”

She added, “Let alone all those insults, allegations, revelations and indiscretions made in Spare, Harry’s spew-it-all memoir. These will no doubt also mean the couple will have a frosty, at best, reception from hard working senior royals and the extended royal family.”

However, she further added that if the ex-royals were not to attend and “use the plausible ‘out’ of the Coronation” then they are “losing their relevance and money-making potential.”

“Regarding lack of relevance Harry has always feared his limited ‘shelf life’ he has always known he would become irrelevant as soon as Prince George turns 18. The likelihood he will attend the Coronation, the most important day in his father’s life, is high.”

Ha ha, too much

It's clearly indicated the Crown is too big and too heavy for her lily-white, whiter than white, 'dove-like' self to handle. The crown is in the customary position for a Duchess marrying in (in her case up) but it doesn't work for a bird. Although her mouth is open ("they silenced me, blah blah") it does look like the crown is chocking the bird, squawking not singing. A bird of peace does not need to sing. The heraldic quills on her side of the shield, plucked no doubt torturously as her signs of sacrifice and strength' to write and right wrongs blah de da, but reveal nothing of her linage and she has nothing of Harry's on her side (customary for those that marry in). She is blatantly stating disunion and separation. She's a total fail in terms of visual representation and heraldic traditions. But then it's successful because she's a total fail as a person.
